Yeah, we know Herobrine is fake, but I don't think he SHOULD be fake. I think Herobrine should be an actual part of the game, and there is a very very small chance he will occur. One Herobrine is seen for the first time, he is a pain to get to go away. He will stalk you at night, and in your sleep, almost everywhere you go, Herobrine follows and studies you. Sometimes, there will be hallucinations of Herobrine, attempting to attack you, he actually does damage, but not really, he will hit you, it will look like you are taking damage, but once you get to half a heart, he will disappear and your health will automatically come back.
He will build mysterious structures, and going into them or breaking them is quite risky. The longer he is "Haunting" you, the more events will appear and the more rough they will be. There can be many many more events than I said, this was just more of an example, help me think up some ideas in the comments, even if you don't support please give me some more ideas anyway, that would be much appreciated. Also, the longer he haunts you, the more likely he is to show his actual self and fight you. Once Herobrine shows himself, it is basically a hardcore boss fight, you can choose to run, or to fight, defeating him gives you multiple enchanted golden apples, and some diamonds.
The boss fight is more than just him hitting you and you hitting him, he may disappear and summon zombies or Herobrine clones that are fake, and you must figure out which is the real one. Running from him can save you, but there will be obstacles you will have to dodge in the act of running, such as Zombies and Herobrine clones spawning in your path, and blocks falling in front of you. Eventually, after running long enough, you will escape him, but he will still be haunting you and may try to battle you again later on. If he is haunting you, moving to a location very far from your current home has a small chance for him to lose you, and stop haunting you until he finds you again.
Like I said, give me some more ideas for this, even if you don't support, or if my ideas need changes. If this were to actually be implemented, I would prefer for it to be a secret update and not be in the patch notes.
Yeeeeeaaaahh... I don't know how long you've been making suggestions, but you had to have seen at least one Herobrine thread that got rejected. Yet you're suggesting what all of those threads have been punched in the face for. What exactly makes this thread stand out from the others? Because I don't see it. It's been confirmed by Mojang themselves that Herobrine won't happen.
Someone talks about how annoying the idea is, and you counter that with just "it's cool because the chance is low". Well gee, I guess I have to support now! I don't support.

Nah, Minecraft doesn't need Herobrine.
Seriously. What you are suggesting is something that would turn the game into a horror game once Herobrine appeared, if it was added.
If you want that aspect of Minecraft, I feel you should use a mod. I mean, there's gotta be tons of Herobrine mods... wait how many are there? About 9 different mods just on the first google search page.
Sorry if this offends you, but Herobrine doesn't belong in Vanilla.

Minecraft Will be converted to a game that "makes you survive and build to protect you from The Stalker ie Herobrine"
Already after hearing about this old creepypasta, herobrine, many players ran off from chickens(thinking a herobrine would pop out of it?) and Jumped off cliffs after seeing a literal zombie in a torch (makes it look like a herobrine) and you say about adding herobrine? Ok, i agree, if another dimension would be added, herobrine can be a boss, but for a survival noobie who just started may see herobrine in the overworld, just at the spawn? Scary for him :0.o:

Because these were goofy players that wanted to believe something was there when there was no proof of it.

I don't understand you people, you want Minecraft to be easy and just the way you want it, boring, Minecraft if way too easy and needs more of a challenge. You people who don't like ideas that add a challenge, I don't see how you find the game fun when it is too easy.

Did you read what we said? The game can be very easy, and a challenge would be nice, but:
Herobrine. That's not original.
Mojang said Herobrine will never be added.
Herobrine is a troll and a griefer. You spend months building a fort? He destroys it with his things. Then it gets worse and worse.
And yes, creepers and Enderman technically do the same thing, but they can be prevented via torches and killed easily. This Herobrine cannot be prevented, and trying to kill him will destroy your entire world.
A few diamonds and enchanted golden apples aren't worth all the destruction he'd cause.

Just Cause series

Message to anyone in this thread: You don't have to like the idea, I personally do not either (my response is below). But please be respectful to the OP and to each other, regardless of if you like the idea or not.
I don't understand you people, you want Minecraft to be easy and just the way you want it, boring, Minecraft if way too easy and needs more of a challenge. You people who don't like ideas that add a challenge, I don't see how you find the game fun when it is too easy.
Well that is the thing about that. Only some of us feel the game is too easy. Others feel like the game is perfectly fine as far as difficulty. Others think it is too hard and stay in Creative or on Peaceful. Sure you aren't going to please everyone but you should aim to please the majority. Frankly (and I'm getting close to going a little bit off topic here but you brought up difficulty) I would say the way to please everyone would be to have full custom difficulty or make so each difficulty level affects more than just hunger and damage.
But anyways what I am getting at is when people say they want the game to be harder, they mean more challenging. Specifically they mean more challenging in a way that is not annoying. This Herobrine suggestion goes a ways too far down that route, because the player doesn't get to choose to fight him. He either shows up or he doesn't. Sure you could say that for pretty much any hostile mob, but the difference is:
They are much easier to deal with than any boss creature
You can plan your playing and building to account for them, such as lighting areas up, using fences, installing doors, etc.
You can't do things with this boss. He shows up, gets really annoying, and eventually attacks you and forces you to either run far away from where you established your entire home/base, or you are forced into a boss fight you may not be prepared for. And to be perfectly honest the reward isn't even worth it. I never really have a use for Golden Apples, personally. I've used one or two but it was usually more just because I had them than any other reason. And Diamonds are kind of easy to get for late stage players so that doesn't really do much for me.
But to me the most annoying thing is the structures he makes. You don't detail what they are, but I know that he builds them regardless of what you were making which probably puts them in your way, and they are dangerous and annoying to get rid of. There is a reason why there are so few mobs that can damage structures, and they are mostly contained to other dimensions, battled by player choice, or are a punishment for playing poorly and not paying attention. Because having something that will mess with your planned buildings that you can't prevent is not fun.
Now I honestly do think a Herobrine suggestion could work. But it would need to stay true to the original telling of the creepypasta. He doesn't engage the player, he doesn't build things or attack you, he just appears in the distance or just out of sight and vanishes when you get close to him or look at him too long. That would add to the creepy factor (which I don't get why so many people think Minecraft has or needs a creepy factor, but anyways), but be non-intrusive. As for game difficulty, I think that would best be added through a different, less intrusive means.

This idea I feel like doesn't belong in Vanilla Minecraft, but... I dunno... Been here for a while, Herobrine was there since I started playing and there's just something charming about it. I feel like he should be added in like the last ever Minecraft update when the developers decide to stop adding updates and at the point that Minecraft isn't even Minecraft anymore. At that point he'd belong as THE endgame boss and drop whatever endgame loot he'd have in the distant future. At the point that even the developers don't even like their own game. That's when they should introduce him.

So this entity that griefs and attacks and is constant nuisance? Not only would this be INCREDIBLY hard to make, even if its possible, and Herobrine? Really? Herobrine, does not belong, nor will it EVER.
What's charming to you could be old, tired and annoying to someone else.
Um no. That is awful logic. So they should slap in something they said was never gonna happen just because they'll... hate their own game? What are you even talking about? He should just never be introduced. Something being well known does not mean it should be officialized.
Whatever, your opinion. I was just saying if he were ever to be introduced, this is the point that they should introduce it, not anywhere before.
I didn't even read the suggestion before typing this, but Herobrine in vanilla minecraft is always a bad idea. Minecraft does NOT need it. Herobrine's just a creepypasta; and it'll be better of if he just stayed that way.
So he creates structures that hog system resources and remove player agency in the name of a mob that's been removed from every single update of Minecraft? All this to grief and annoy the player (and actually kill you since other mobs may exist when he "attacks" you)?
There is no mention of combat mechanics save a loose explanation of pie-in-the-sky "would be cool" concepts. No mob health (like that matters) or the amount of damage he would deal at base. These are things that you as the OP need to supply out the gate; then work with the community to perfect.
There's suprisingly little detail given the length of the suggestion; I'm not a fan of herobrine in the first place, but if we were to replace the name with a "poltergeist" or other similar entity; the concept would still be unsound.
Whatever, your opinion. I was just saying if he were ever to be introduced, this is the point that they should introduce it, not anywhere before.
Dude I don't even...
If an idea is bad, it's bad. You can't pick a different time to implement it to make it unbad. What developer in their right mind would wait "until they don't like their game anymore"? That is so nonsensical.
I say no support. Herobrine is an internal Minecraft community creation/icon/creepypasta, having it in the actual game will ruin what is left of its shine.
And if it's going to be added to be a powerful mob that keeps killing and modifying the world, the fun of the game itself would be damaged as well.
Yeah, we know Herobrine is fake, but I don't think he SHOULD be fake. I think Herobrine should be an actual part of the game, and there is a very very small chance he will occur. The only reason there ever could have been herobrine was if he was a game virus.
The best thing I ever saw herobrine in was the youtube series: The Legend of Herobrine. That's where Herobrine should stay.
