We all know we can add "color":"aqua" (or any other color) to add colors to our text, our signs, or etc, just these. but we cannot: Do this with Item names, Lore's, Entites, (Only possible by adding them to a team with a colored name, but doesn't use color codes.) and particles. I'm gonna show how this *could* be possible, first: Adding support for "§" Characters, the unicode of this is so big you can't actually paste it into a command, there used to be a code so you could use the properties of the § character, but that was removed. They should re add this or add something else,like 2. (ColorDisplay Tag) so it the syntax would be: /give @a minecraft:diamond 1 0 {display:{Name:"Shiny!",ColorDisplay:{Color:{"yellow"}} that would be easier then coding that double s character, for entites? /summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:"Steve"}}, {ColorDisplay:"aqua"}} this would be amazing for map-makers, also for me.
I support this, it's annoying to check web & all wiki's or even online generators for colored text. And I'd add this along with more kinds of color maybe, for example by utilizing color tag like on leather armor.
Leather Armor does support the way of changing it's texture, if we wanted to add this for leather armor (too) they would have to change the color tag in leather armor to LeatherColor or something, and have the other Colored name tag. I would actually like if you could color item textures, but it's probably never gonna be added, just imagine making green gold ingots for example... Also, it would be cool to have the same color properites of leather armor, to combine colors like aqua, and gold. for example. so maybe like a BlendColors tag, so {ColorDisplay:{Color:"aqua","yellow":{BlendColors:1}}
Actually I was especially referring to things like /tellraw or signs more than item names, but I didn't say it, sorry.
I meant using color tag on said text instead of naming the actual color, so there will be much more, well, colors to choose from. Signs don't have easy acces to them anyway.
YESS!!! Currently, you need to do this ridiculously complicated sign way or 3rd party software. Also in MCPE, they support this. (I mean the "\u00a7" character... but the (colorCode thing is cool too))
On MCPE... They actually DO Support this in signs and items, just by holding down the "S" character on your keyboard and seeing that "§" character. You can do colored names WITHOUT commands on mcpe, that is just stupid how all the PC User's can't do this, and also how it doesn't require any commands to do. I wonder if this works on WINDOWS 10 edition if I copy and paste that § character...
Indeed it does... Colored item names, and it works for nametags to name mobs with colored names! --Windows 10 Edition Exclusive-- also, yes, you can do §k to get those changing characters in windows 10. Strange thing is even the §k character gets this effect, STRANGE.
I really like the Idea. Would make it a lot less tedious than the NBTExplorer Method I use at the Moment.
However I would like some more freedom in the Colors aswell. Colors like Orange arent supported at all. Instead I would like to see the Color Code used for Leather Armor and the Cartographers Maps used for Text aswell.
Well, technically the color "gold" is pretty much orange, but sorta isn't, if there was a "orange" color it would be a much brighter version of the gold color.

Diamonds ftw.
Honestly I'd have nothing against this, it'd make life easier for mapmakers.

This would be very useful, and much needed. Support.

No reason not to support this.

I am talking about "Item Colored Names"
But anyways...

I support. There's no reason not too. Won't affect anybody other than people who use it. But maybe just allow the § character everywhere?

I think we need more colors. Being limited to only &0-9 and &a-f is very pesky. Support.
