Either way, I feel harming potions take the toll as "dynamite" or "Ground fireworks" since it's essentially the same thing. Besides, fireworks are... Well, fireworks. They go up in the sky and be pretty. It's just how they are. Now they just kind of hurt when the glitter smacks you in the face. These new methods to make them weapons are just using them unintentionally. Which isn't bad, but there's no need to change fireworks just to associate that.

Hm.
Good analogy.
Yeah, splash potions are quite useful.
Maybe the price could balance it a bit.
"there's no need to change fireworks just to associate that."
I didn't mean to change them, I just meant to add another... Effect.
Aside from the duration, another factor of the firework could be... if it actually flies or not.
But even if it weren't used offensively, ground fireworks would be quite good-looking.
Maybe you could fire fireworks with Bows? Does that sound cool? I think that sounds pretty cool. It would probably be necessary for the bow to have flame or something.
Or Firework Rockets could be crafted with Sticks so they can be launched similarily to Snowballs, but more slowly.
The "Rocket on a Stick" sprite could be like this:
That actually sounds reasonable. You would have to calculate your shot so it doesn't go right past the enemy, but it would be usable offensively.
Good idea!
Hi.
I've seen the new snapshot.
It brought a lot of new changes to the table.
It was a really good snapshot, with Sweeping Edge, real flight, iron nuggets, etc.
But the thing I'm focusing on isn't any of that.
Let's talk fireworks.
Now in the new snapshot, they made fireworks do damage, aside from their usual aesthetic use.
But here's the thing.
Fireworks fly upwards, as you would expect.
What if you could use some sort of item in the firework recipe to make it fall?
A firework-based weapon would be a very interesting and useful addition.
And oviously, you could give the dynamite special effects, since it IS basically a firework.
Now about the crafting.
I think string added to the usual firework crafting would make sense.
Heck, maybe even add string and remove the gunpowder! The firework star is the explosive part after all.
Or you could add a heavy item, like an gold nugget/ingot to the firework recipe, and just make a firework that falls.
Anyways, that's enough about that.
Fireworks have a lot of potential.
I believe that they can be used offensively, and MC has needed an explosive weapon for some time, so...
I'll leave that up to you.
Peace.
This steak is so rare I threw a masterball at it!
-Gordon Ramsay... maybe... someday?
Nope, he won't say it
Fireworks deal quite a bit of damage, and controlling them to go to the ground is already possible. (Here's a few methods: https://gfycat.com/SimilarPerfectJackal https://gfycat.com/DopeyTartGoa) You can use blocks to block their way or come up with a sort of "Cannon" to launch them sideways, which is already a thing: https://gfycat.com/PerkyMindlessFoxterrier

A throwing firework such as a firecracker might be nice in a fight.

How about this?
