The new /locate command is pretty darn neat, but it could use a few improvments. The first major improvement would be relative locations. For example, say you don't want to know the closest Woodland Mansion to you, but to a specific location. You could just type
/locate <structure> <coordinates or player name>
and it would spit out the location of the structure closest to where you were looking. It would also return the distance between the two locations, so you can see exactly the distance between the two. That would help for server admins to give information to players without having to go to them or could be useful to see what is around a player or location from the server console.
Additionally, the ability to instantly spit out coordinates of a player would also be useful (I'm not sure how useful it would be from the console, but it could be as an admin or server mod). That would just be
/locate Player <player name>
This would also work with the additional command options above so you could see how far away two players are from each other.
Next we have the ability to locate an owned bed, using
/locate Bed <player>
Useful for finding a player's base or home. While we are locating words that start with "B"s, what about the location of specific Biomes? Just type
/locate Biome <biome name>
That gives you the location of the closest block in that biome to you or the location you set using the addition to the base command suggested above.
I had another but I lost it, so I guess that is it.

I know I would use this feature extremely frequently if it were like this. There's so much distance between biome variants that it'd just be good if I could know where they were beforehand. This has my support.
The second part seems very helpful, but isn't your first suggestion able to be replicated via /execute?
/execute @p/@e/player/etc. ~ ~ ~ /locate Mansion
It would locate the nearest mansion starting from whatever it was executed at. (Unless it doesn't work that way, in which case it'd be a bug).
Either way, shortening it so you don't have to go through an /execute loophole would be fine with me.
It could be, I honestly don't know much about the commands in MC besides the few I rarely use like /tp. But it would still make that functionality easier to use overall.
