Hey Mojang and Microsoft, if you see this, pick this up, it's so simple that a programming starter can do!
What I'm asking for is three things, one item, one block and one entity. I would like to call them the "Customizable Blank Stuff", the Blank Item, the Blank Block and the Blank Entity. The reason why I suggest these three things is that whenever I try to create a model for an item, I just feels like that there's not enough items for me to replace with the model. For example I tried to replicate the giant sword from Asgard Shield mod into 1.9, The only choice for me is to use the music disk which it's totally strange when you can put your sword into a CD Player and it actually plays sound (Unless your "Sword" is some kind of USB?) and so these three items somehow helps map makers, but mostly helping resources pack makers and making their lives easier. How? Let me show you an example I've made:
/give Xero_Neptune minecraft:blank_item 0 1 {display:{Name:"§fWooden Giant Sword",color:,Lore:["§7Special Ability: §fNone", "&3&oNot a well made sword"]}, durability:1, model: "item\giant_sword_wood", base: [id:"minecraft:wooden_sword", tags:{HideFlags:20}]}
There's some necessary new NBT tags for these items to work properly for improving resources pack makers' lives:
durability - whether the item has durability or not, 1 for yes
model - use a model from the "model" folder in the resource pack, e.g. block\cauldron
base: - the item / block that this blank thing will base on, allowing players to use this thing as the way they use the base items / blocks
offset - this one I only have an idea which its for entity modeling but I know nothing about 3D modeling so this would be ideas of you guys
Now when you have these blank things, you don't have to worry about replacing items and installing mods to get more items for your model slots!
This may be useful, I'll say support I guess but you can just replace certain durability values of tools/weapons with the textures you want, then give the player the tool of that durability.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

Support to Maximum!
It'd be helpful for you to add a poll for Support/No Support so people don't have to flood the comments.
Also check into the Redstone Striker - a handheld power source and Protolith - The Wildcard Ore, and Crowbar aka Hand Piston - a Move Tool, more to come.

I think this had already being suggested somewhere, more developed than this.
