Hello, so I was thinking about this a lot of times. Why haven't they added the posibility to animate your skin in Minecraft? Like texture packs
So I came here to bring up with this: Animated Skins!
When you are in the minecraft.net, in the profile section, you find yourself with the "Change your skin" option to change your static skin.
But right below that, there could be a "Skins animations" option and below, there would be the cell to place a folder with the so said animations that will be added to such skin. It could have a 10 or 20 64x32 files (tipical skin files size) limit.
When you upload your animation folder to your skin, It will act like an animated item from any resource pack. It can be activated or deactivated by going to Skin Settings and set "Skin Animations" to Off or On. To avoid producing vision problems from people who would obviously abuse it and make a rainbow skin, a offensive skin or something way too psychodelic, it would have like "a cooldown" or maybe make it slow.
Is there anything wrong about this suggestion, please let me know! (I'm not too intelligent xd)
[Edit]:
Thanks everyone for the support and feedback!
I have a little idea to produce less lag in servers.
Well, maybe if you have like a beast pc you won't need it. But if you dont, and you think you would lag in a MC server with animated skins here's a option that could improve that.
[Options] > [Multiplayer Settings] and there would be the "Skin animation" button. If you press it once, it will change to "Player only" (which means you will only see your skin animation and not else's. If you press it again, it will set to "None" which will be 0 animations in skins.
See any errors in this suggestion? Let me know! Got an improvement? Tell me! And don't forget to vote in the poll right above the thread. Bye
So you're saying my charged creeper skin can finally have an animation??

I can't see why not. Although, correct me if I'm wrong, (I think?) it will add more lag especially to multiplayer servers.

There are some server mods that alter your skin, or allow you change it on the fly. I'd love for my creepy skin to blink at people, but I wouldn't some that in vanilla. The idea isn't bad, but servers full of skin-changing players can be a messy eyesore. I hate to say "no support" but... I don't support.
Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

This idea has some potential, it's great!
SUPPORT
There are texture packs that animate every block and cause no lag, I don't see how this would lag, especially since this would have a limit.

I don't really know how this would work... would it be like a character could do a backflip instead of jumping?

This has so much potential, and I can see this being awesome. I can also see it pounding computers to the ground. Most people don't invest in powerful processors, and this would slow God knows how many computers down. No support, sorry.

Ooooooh oooooooooh
So are we talking simply a skin that changes slowly over time to do this or that always?
What about options to add them for when different things happen!
Perhaps you have those folders with the separate animated skins, one for nothing, so you could just have your character blink or something every once in a while. One for a "long wait" basically AFK, and you could put a skin to make your character yawn or sleep. Another for "falling" and you could use a skin to make him look scared or excited from the fall. Another for getting attacked, with your skin looking pained or like it had been punched. Or maybe you are a barbarian and when you get hurt your eyes get big and you YELL AAAARRRRRRRG, so whoever hit you gets a big surprise :D. And another for swimming, another for eating, and a super scared one for when you hear a creeper hiss!
Of course, all these are just recommendations and you can have your character do whatever for all these. Maybe you want him to yawn when fighting. Or turn into a creeper when you hear a creeper hiss.
Just my thoughts. It would be cool if that were possible.

That would be really weird hahah! Not a bad idea thought. I don't really see that happening but, ok
I would most likely never use it, but it would certainly be pretty neat. One cool thing would be if different animations played for different actions.

One problem (and quite possibly the main problem) is that there's going to be those people out there who make/use epileptic skins.
I think the fix to that, as he said above, would be to make the skin changing comparatively slow, so its not so flashy, It would be meant to be something cool if you were watching carefully, and less of an attention grabber,

Full Support, becuse flamethrowing arms would be awesome; although it doesn't actually light stuff
Good to know! And yeah, I saw your thread, but I didn't bother that much.
No, I suck at that. I would use the animations to make my eyes glow :3
I'd hate to be that guy but this feature could be extremely abusable. And as others have stated it could hurt eyes due to the flashiness and perhaps cause epileptic seizures. No support, I'd like to mention how great it'd be to have a blinking skin or perhaps teeth grinding.

Perhaps, but I think that'd be too much work for animated skins, I don't think Mojang would want to do that. But eh, it'd be worth it.

Man this is gonna be really awsome, i can now have my flashing glowing eye on my sans based skin (i would do it on the clasic one, and the fell version, which is the main one that i use)
