So we all know that the cauldron was added and intended originally for potion making but that use was pulled. The cauldron still doesn't have a use other than some use in redstone wiring. I suggest they be used to make stew with already included food items, something simple that could also give wooden bowls more of a use as well.
Veggie stew could be made with potatoes and carrots dropped into a boiling cauldron (filled with water with lava or fire under it.)
Beef Stew: carrot+potato+beef
Chowder:potato+fish
Similar to its original intended use but less complicated.
On one hand, it would be neat to have more uses for cauldrons and more types of stew.
On the other hand, why would you spend the extra time to make stew when you could just have it separate? It's the same, you're just not wasting an extra bowl that could have been used for mushroom stew, and you can't eat mushrooms separate.
Also, the title is rather vague; you may want to fix that.
What about some more types of soup? Also how much they recover? Saturation? Minecraft has plenty of food already, so why this is better than other types of food?

It just bothers me that cauldrons don't do anything. It is one of the things that makes vanilla minecraft feel like an incomplete game, that and the vast uniformity and almost emptiness of the nether. Stew should be able to give some kind of beneficial effects or saturation that you cannot get from the items separately. It can be something like the first enchanting system except much more simple. The complexity of the potion idea is why Mojang changed the potions to the brewing stand. Each cauldron could make three bowls of soup each for its three levels of water.

If this were a mod post in the mod section of the forums then it would be required to be more specific. This is just a suggestion in the suggestions area. I think it would be a good idea and it seems to make sense that a big metal pot be used for cooking, rather than just the oven in minecraft. Specific values and implementations would be left up to whoever actually uses the idea.
Cauldrons are used to reset colors on dyed armor. There's nothing wrong with suggesting another use for something, but on the other hand, just because something has a low amount of uses doesn't mean it's a bad or "incomplete" thing. This idea is just adding food to a game with tons of food already, so I don't see much appeal factor here.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

Read the rules, posts need to be specific. It won't hurt to put a little more effort into your suggestion.
I would also agree as well. Cauldrons use some high number of iron and has a low amount of uses as far from collecting water and removing colour from dyed armour. But can you explain how the mechanic would work for making the different types of Stew/Soup?
I'm guessing you would initially fill the cauldron up with water, and then toss raw ingredients in. Light a fire and let it cook. This could be formalized with a work meter similar to what furnaces and brewing stands have, but otherwise this is essentially the same technique that several popular mods use (Etho's demonstrated the use of at least three of them that I've seen in his Modded Minecraft series).

Partial support.

This is a vague idea (as I noticed when i revisited it), we need to know:
how much saturation the foods have
how much hunger they heal
And, this is a wishlist.

Also, I'd like to state that it seems like you haven't read something that you need to read as a suggester.

I have, maybe reading it before commenting would be a good idea as well.
