Many people in Minecraft love to build structures out of blocks, and to add more color variety they like to use Gravel and Sand. But wait a sec! This Sand should go right here, it matches what I want to build, but it keeps falling and using something to support it won't make it look right! What should be added? /gamerule BlockGravity! Setting BlockGravity to False will make Gravel and Sand act like regular blocks! Sure, you can use Barriers to support Gravel and Sand, but the Barriers might take up a lot of space and make it impossible to get through with all those Barriers in the way. Maybe noobs who don't like the physics for the two blocks wants to make a Gravel house, what does he do? /gamerule BlockGravity False! If a builder were to make a building with some Sand, what does he do? /gamerule BlockGravity False! To add even more variety to this /gamerule, a guy who prefers realistic games might do /gamrule BlockGravity All, so that all blocks fall. You can even make specific blocks fall by using /gamerule BlockGravity [Block name] [Block name] [Block name].. you get it.
MrVops says, ''there should be gravity value like 0 for zero gravity or 100 for intense gravity''.
I kinda like this idea, there should be gravity value like 0 for zero gravity or 100 for intense gravity. It would remind me of hosting private counter-strike servers, you could change the server gravity by "sv_gravity x" command.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
This would be neat, but doing something like this: "/gamerule blockGravity stone sand stained_glass" just doesn't fit with how gamerules work. All gamerules except for randomTickSpeed are simply boolean true/false values, and randomTickSpeed still has to be a number. Having a gamerule that uses a list just goes against the basic principle of how gamerules work. This would fit better in its own command, like "/blockgravity"

Genlems5Ever: Well, my ceiling of anvils, sand, and gravel looks completely awful, but it's new and inproved by this gamerule. 1.9 Rules!
If some troll for some reason turns it off
Genlems5Ever suffocated in a wall
Genlems5Ever was squashed by a falling anvil.
Genlems5Ever: 1.9 SUCKS! Darnit Jeb and Dinnerbone
But really. anyways, I fully support this
My Avatar: Totally not me.
AND IF YOU THINK IT IS ME THEN YOU HAVE NO REASON TO. MY AVATAR IS UNIQUE AND I HAVE BALLS TO PUT IT UP. >3>

SUPPORT!!! Also with MrVop's idea, does it affect all entities? And blocks (ordinary blocks).

Besides the fact that you totally failed at boolean logic, support.
I support this! This is a very good idea.
Sometimes i feel like adding sand/gravel/anvils to a build but then when i place the down they just fall.
With this idea, i could make raining Melons.

I think it should be added into the game, but as it's own command, not a /gamerule.
Barriers. But, if the barrier would block something, ok then.
real big goober guy over here
