Wow! I want to play this! Can't wait until it's added!
However, I think the massive waves of Shadows after 15 minutes should be changed. Maybe have the waves occur during in-game night, so the player has to time when they go in to avoid them. Also, maybe Shadows should not spawn if you light up an area with torches.

You know what, I think that's better. The shawdows will only come out at night. During the day they will hide in the dark. No torches still, but this means you actually have 10 minute to get through.

You have 10 minutes, but you have to pass the far void level in day time, so, when you get down to the forgotten level, you should leave the far void and enter the forgotten level since if the night begin, there won't be the shaft of daylight and you would be trapped in the forgotten level, so what a player MUST do is enter the far void in the shaft of light in the very beggining of the day and hurry trough the 228 blocks in the forgotten level (let's say it takes a minute to reach the forgotten level having the hole for the light) you would have 9 minutes to pass 228 blocks!! it's about 25 blocks per minute! but then, when you reach the evil level, you should make shelter there in night time and then, if you want to, you come back to the forgotten level in day time if you want the coal there as you need coal to make torches

You hit it spot on. By the way, what else do you think should be changed? Before the crystal level was a crystal level, it was just the "continuing caves" level. Now, it is one of the most fascinating levels of all. Help me think of how we can make the other ones more interesting as well.
Let's make this become a 1.7.10 mod?
(but i don't know ANYTHING about java coding)
if we make this become a mod, i'll try to make some of the textures...
If this was a mod, it would also convince people more about the famous cubic chunks suggestion, which, by the way, I had no idea about when I wrote this suggestion. I don't know anything about Java either, so who the heck would write us a mod? Let's worry about getting more supporters first. I'll put up a poll to find out how many supporters I currently have. Maybe we can get to 20 supporters!

How about a new block for compressed level called "tectonical plate" when mined, it causes an earthquake, with this, nearby blocks are removed/replaced/change places, and blocks similar to falling sand (but with a different texture, corresponding to the respective block) are spawned, thrown in random directions, some of the caves "fall" the surface is changed, each earthquake have a range from 99 to 499 blocks, these blocks are very hard (about 4x harder than obsidian) and have 90.000 blast resistance (15x more than obsidian)
EDIT: for forgotten level how about a new block called coal block ore when mined, it have 13/40 chance to drop 5-8 coal and 27/40 chance to drop 1-2 coal blocks
It would be awesome to have a bigger and more varied underground, but I'm not entirely fond of the way it's handled in your suggestion. You seem to divide the world into layers, which all seem to stretch into infinity, while I would prefer a more biome-based way of dividing the underground. If you have like 5 layers of biomes, then you can still put more valuable biomes deeper than less valuable ones, but you can also make each layer a lot more varied that way.

I understand how it would be a lot cooler to have the layers that way. It takes forever to put all my ideas down. If you have features in mind such as possible biomes for each level, it would be great to hear them.
I love it, but dont you think that there are too many levels? Thinking of it, how many blocks deeper will the whole underground area have??? 500 maybe??? Its too much, you should remove some ideas, because its a massive change to minecraft. :/ Overral: 70% support! Just remove ones, because i just dont remember half of them
I do agree that this is a mouthful of levels. I was thinking if they were to ever be added, they could be added bit by bit in order, because they don't really depend on eachother. Also, you should be able to change which levels you want in world settings. Make sure to tell me which levels you do like in the poll above! : )
Sooo, the thread peaked my interest with the title but once I started reading you lost my support. You basically are describing Terraria. If I wanted to play Terraria that's where I'd be. I like the idea of deeper caves (and maybe more organized caves and various cave types), but not added ores almost straight from Terraria.

Wh-oa! What?! Describing Terraria? This suggestion is nothing like Terraria! Adding new gems doesn't make it Terraria! If it does... We'd better get rid of iron, gold, emeralds and diamonds, because those are ores in Terraria! Keep in mind that the names of the ores in Terraria are real ores (For the most part), so it can't be describing Terraria if the ore's originality wasn't even from the game! Lastly, the new gems aren't even used for the same reason they're used in Terraria, they are used for completely different things! I honestly don't see how this is describing Terraria in any way! Terraria has a HUGE mass of content, and if something very teeny tiny was added that the game has, we're copying the whole game?! That's just insane!
Why do I do this? What is life? Why are we here?

That sounds cool, but is more of above than below. Also, that is an amazing idea. Start your own thread for it!

Hmmm, maybe we could add an option to choose their generation order, but by default, will always be the same order...
do you support this idea?
