so, everyone knows how on servers, there is a warp star or a compass or whatever. When you click that, it opens some GUI that has less slots than a chest would. I think you all know that, if you go on hub servers like Hypixel or Woodycraft or Hive or anything. (hive has more slots)
So why not this be for map makers!? well that's exactly what the /GUI command adds. Here is the syntax:
/GUI <player> { GUI:{Name:< name of GUI >,Rows:<number of slot rows>}} {possibly some JSON syntax to add items to the GUI and make them clickable}
For any people with no support:
Think about the possibilities this could add to maps, like Missile Wars and stuff. or have loot chests delivered to your inventory, but not have to place them down. Imagine the possiblilities.
Here is a possibility for an item with a custom GUI:
/give @p minecraft:stone 1 0 {GUI:{Name:<name>,Rows:<Number of rows>}}
