Don't you hate it when you've gathered so many items and you have chests lined up by the dozens and you just can't find the item your looking for? Well how about new chest-like blocks such as an ice box to keep your food in? or a dresser to keep your clothing in? Or how about even a weapon rack to keep your weapons organized? These blocks would make for easy to find, organized item holders. And now you don't have to worry about looking through 45 chests to find that darn sword you need when that creeper spawns in your house.
This is a somewhat commonly posted suggestion, and again, while I like the idea of variation for a bit of role playing, this thread is very vague. How would you craft these. Do you have any pictures or concept art to support this idea?
These ideas you are posting are good, but need a bit more work.
I feel the weapon rack would be a valid suggestion however i am not sure about a refrigerator just seems something a bit too 'out there' also realistically this would require power (other then redstone) which would mean another unit of energy would have to be added and it would make the game feel a bit too modern in my opinion. Just my opinion ;p
Possibly a Ice box? Before electricity and such was used, people used to store highly perishable food items in underground rooms usually kept cool by ice or natural temperatures. You could make that a bit unrealistic and just use ice in a crafting recipe and that is what keeps the food from 'spoiling.'

so this idea is too realistic and pet armor is not realistic? you seem to have a problem with both concepts

You didn't seem too aggressive, and I see what you mean. What he has posted says that he thinks that things can't be too realistic and yet not too unrealistic...
There are mods exactly like that... Why add that stuff?
Oh and btw there is something called signs to label your loot.
Mods like that aren't available for newer versions. Also, you don't have to have signs, you can rename the chest with an anvil.

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

yes there are signs, but then there's still the inconvenience of reading the signs to find the right chest
