I also think even if it has a similar explosion effect to tnt, I think it needs to be delivered different, Perhaps dispersed in more of a shockwave, leveling the ground instead of blowing equal in a squared fashion, and a nice mushroom cloud for those with the fancy graphics setting.

i think it should only be found in the nether
Nah, I don't see how this metal could fit there. I'd rather have it deep underground.
Does that mod have the same Infinium features as this suggestion? Just curious, I don't know.
I think that the Infinium core should have a durability meter when used with powered minecarts. Since I can't imagine a situation where you would need to travel on a Minecart for 3 days straight, and after putting in fuel the fuel vanishes to be completely used up, the core would simply reduce its durability and could be taken out after you reach your destination.
Using it to power redstone should give a stronger current (i.e. it would be able to travel thirty blocks without a repeater or something) and wouldn't degrade it.
Since the core seems alien-ish, working with it should be dangerous. Wiring it directly to another Infinium core should make it explode, letting it contact water should make it explode, letting it contact fire or lava should make it explode, and burning it out like a redstone torch should make it explode.
i like the "original ideas" you have in there, the balances of armour power ect fails.
However take the "gravity idea" to a new height. Arrows that create "point gravity" where they land for a few seconds.
A sword that sucks people into the strike. "variable durabillity strengths depend on what other material aka wood, metal, gold, diamond ect. A special one if red stone is used aka a more intense effect, yet durability of wood.
gravity armour that pulls things yet makes you slower "only the gravity effect drastically stacks" it could be very effective on items! However not even close to as strong or "variable strength depending on the other material used"

You can go ahead and move at the speed of light, But i will move at the speed of darkness.
Too much sci-fi
Needs to be more mid-evil. but not a bad idea.

I liked the earlier ideas of a hourglass because whenever they run out you can flip it to reset it (though i'd suggest both sand, and obsidian be used in it's creation and it would lose a point of durability every flip) A pure block would act as a interesting alternative to anti griefing my suggest would for it be a directional explosion in the direction that it is exposed to air (arming itself 15seconds after placement) a normal block would act as a gravity source pulling objects (sand and other gravity affected blocks) towards itself (that are within 3,4,5? blocks)
its an epic idea but the core shouldent be useable on a minecart unless theres a diamund holder and mabey it would go at turbo full speed and i dont think they should be useable on mobs bout itz an epixorz idea!
I think this is a fantastic idea. I don't believe in the "spirit of the game" crap at all. That is actually why I like this game. You can do what you want. This game is based around FREEPLAY. You spawn on an open world just like you would (theoretically) in real life. Do you choose to start a small primitive village, or do you build a city, do you build a mid-renaissance castle or do you build a futuristic town? Do you see this game as a matter of defense and survival or creation and innovation? I could go on for hours but the point is, great idea, I'd love to see it happen.
I think this a great idea, although I'm not sure about being able to mine it in ten seconds with any tool. I think it should have the same resistance as Obsidian ( ) since it would make a very nice armor.
If infinium did provide gravity you could make upside down water aka boats and minecarts not to mention all the other bizar creations you could make secrets rooms and such.
But instead of the cores it should make a green light atmosphere around it :]
