In the Minecraft Villages Today, there are alot of things that give the Villages a flaw and which is bad for the Villagers, and Players Heath. In some or the Houses, there's not enough light that, at night Monsters Spawn in Them, and can and will kill the Villagers, and the Players that are inside. Also, on some Houses, there aren't stairs that go up to the Door, which is annoying for the Design, and it's annoying to jump up, and open the Door, rather than just walking up. In some Houses, especially the quite small ones, the Floors are Dirt, and, there's not even a Torch to Light it up, so, it's a Dangerous Place to be at Night. In the type of House the has that Deck in the Back, it's Dirt. Which is ugly. So, it should be Cobblestone for the Border, and Wooden Planks for the Main Flooring. For the Paths in the Village, they all should be Connected, for the Looks, and for More Space for Houses, so.... More Villagers. In the Blacksmith, where the Chest with Loot is, there's should be some Torches, because there's No Light in there at Night so Mobs can spawn in there, which is bad for the Villagers Around, because the more Zombies there are, the easier it is for Zombies to break into other Houses, and Kill the Villagers. Basically, all Houses, and Buildings should have Torches or Some Kind of Light in them. For the Farms that are in the Village, they should also have Torches near them so the Crops and Grow at Night, which means More Food for the Player, and so less Mobs Spawn around the Farm and can Mess them up Easier.
Right! The Villages in Minecraft are sooo badly generated in some places that even, I saw one Village that was Floating in mid-air! Also, I saw one that was half in a Mountain!! I literally had to dig into the Mountain just to see what the Villagers had to Trade! There was surprisingly alot of Villagers in the Mountain!
The thing is, villages aren't made for humans... They are made for npcs. Maybe they need darkness, or have to jump inside buildings. Anyways, they don't need to change villages. If anything, it is fun to find ways to improve a village and make it look nice.

Another solution for dark interiors is if villagers were treated like players for monster-spawning purposes (there's a safe zone of about 16 cubes around each player so zombies etc don't spawn in your face). If each villager had a 16-cube exclusion zone, then zombies would be forced to spawn outside the village and then walk in.
support because villagers need this to be less weird

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.

No no no. If you added that, then I'm just going to bury villagers around my house so that no mobs could spawn nearby.
Anyways, I don't think this change is strictly necessary. Not that many people LIVE in a village, unless they're on superflat. If you're that concerned with villages, fix them up yourself.

1- Finish the mod API
2- Give brains to villagers (make em more usefull)
3- Add ambiance: birds, fishes, bugs, crabs on beaches, monkeys in jungles...
4- More plants! Aquatic, any fruit tree, bushes....
5- Ambiant sounds!
