So this idea has been brought up dozens upon dozens of times. I've read suggestions on how seasons should be in minecraft after 32 minecraft days seasons change. However, the seasons should not be forced upon players. It should be enabled in some way. For instance say I am playing singleplayer. I should be able to go to options and turn off the 4 seasons. Although depending on where you live in the minecraft world the seasons would change on the biome your in and closest to. Creating some sub weather in between a snow biome and a Forrest biome so maybe snow on some days and rain in other days.
Why Add it?: Well the reasons to add it would be easy to code in if we simply mount the weather snow/rain to biomes and combining some biomes for a rain/snow rotations. Another would be if a player want to be in a survivalist situations he/she would have the option to do so.
Weather:
So this idea contains different types of weather. Although we have rain/snow and thunder/lighting. We do not have sleet and hail in the game. For hailing situations the player would have to hide under a block to get away from the hail. The hail could break the glass in houses creating damage like lighting. Sleet would be first snow then turn into water in a matter of a minute. Creating flooding issues if drains are not installed.
Why Add it?: I am not going to like this may take a descent amount of time to code into the game. However, people would have more things to do in minecraft when trying to protect themselves.
Wishlist. Please refrain from posting multiple unrelated ideas in a single thread.
I am a bit confused about what exactly 'drains' are. Are they just a hole on the ground which would look rather ugly? Or is there a new block or grate or something which can 'drain' water? Will we need to have sponge drains we have to dry after every use?
Also, hail breaking glass would be very bothersome and could damage many maps. Maybe just have hail hurt players? Also, why must the player hide under a block whilst it is hailing?
After all, 1m^2 glass ought to break so easily! And I don't see how it would break vertical panes unless it was slanted slightly.
Also, exactly what is the point of seasons? To add more weather... couldn't these new weather types be added in a simpler way? If you want to add seasons, then adding season specific flowers and crop maturing and things would essentially be needed, lest your addition be of nigh no use.
Seasons and weather I will let it slide, as they are similar to each other. But animals should be in a separate thread. I have edited the thread and I will PM you the animals paragraph.
This toggleable seasons feature is really unbalanced. Did you know that snow doesn't evaporate, even if it's not a cold biome? Also I really don't want hail causing chaos to me and my builds.

I think this is a rather vague suggestion.
