I suggest that magic be added into minecraft in an unorthodox way. Magic is done from magic alters made of magic tin in a way similar to enchanting. While in most games movies and stories magic is done with wands I suggest it be done with books in minecraft. This will make villagers slightly more useful and a reason to try to grow sugar cane or get leather.
Ores
Copper- Copper is an orange ore slightly rarer than iron. When mined it gives three copper dust. Copper dust functions similar to redstone but rather than transmitting a redstone signal it transmits magical energy. It can also be used to make the magical equivalent of a red stone block.
Tin- Tin is a white ore about as common as gold. It is used to make magic altars and is spent to research spells. When the ore is mined it drops itself and needs to be smelted
Magic altars
Necromancer table- This table is crafted with a zombies skull in the middle, tin in the corners, and endstone on the sides the GUI consists of a slot for a book and a large circle with a skeleton skull in the center when moused over it will say that this summon costs 3 Tin to research. After this spell is researched the book in the book slot will get the enchantment effect but red. When you left with the book a special skeleton is summoned that kills five mobs and despawns or dies. After researching this spell more spells are discovered and can be researched Alchemy table- This table is crafted the same way as the necromancer table but with a magma cream rather than a skull. This tables GUI shows a option slot and several uncoded enchantments. To use the table put in a potion. Three enchantments will appear these enchantments cost tin to use when you click one the appropriate amount of tin is removed. Now your option will have a normal effect and a special effect. Special effects listed later Exchange Table- This table is very similar to the transmutation tablet from EE. The GUI is an output slot and an input slot with a bar on top. To use this table put a material in the input slot then say what you want it transformed into and it appears in the output slot. This is not Op because it costsTin to transmute. Spell table- The spell table is used to do spells. It's GUI is the same as the achievements tree except rather than achievements there are spells each spell costs tin

Bronze
Bronze is manufactured by putting a tin ingot next to a copper dust. It can be turned into tools that are slower than iron are easier to enchant.
Books
Spell books can be purchased from priest villagers There are multiple types of books apprentice 3 charges wizard 6 charges mage 8 charges Sorcerer 10 charges philospher 12 charges
1 charge is one use. Summoning books cost xps and have infinite uses if you are out of charges you have to re enchant the book
Alternate method to get spells
You can get spell pages by trading with villager then you can insert these pages into theor appropriate table to unlock a spell the unlocked spell can now be attaché to a book by putting the book in the book slot and selecting the spell
First of all, this is redundant. Second of all, doing this would be impossible in survival, as you can't get a zombie skull in survival mode.
How is it redundant I searched for magic tin, copper, bronze, and magic and none of them were like this
and you actually can get a zombie skull by blowing it up with a charged creeper
trollsack and the OP are right, the way this is suggested is very different from any other idea that suggests these individually, so I can't lock it for that. The OP is also right when they say it isn't a wishlist because the ideas are related. All in all, good for you Witherdragon2000; you did an excellent job making sure your thread complies with the official rules.
All that said, I don't care for the suggestion. It seems like a rather strange method of implementation that honestly sounds overly complex and hard to obtain, which doesn't necessarily make it balanced. Sorry but no support from me.

Well, when a killer bunny and cyclops laser fish is implemented you know that anything can be

I have to disagree with that. The Killer Rabbit is nothing more than an Easter Egg referencing Monty Python and the Holy Grail. To me, that is like saying anything can be added because of the "Minceraft" easter egg.
As for the cyclops laser fish, I actually think it fits the theme well lol. Besides, we had been asking for ocean content for over a year when they added that. But that is of course all a matter of personal opinion. Some people think cars and guns fit in Minecraft too.

there have been suggestions about magic almost as Long as there has been about ocean content, and these spell are really just enchantments that go on special books
Well, when a killer bunny and cyclops laser fish is implemented you know that anything can be
No, that's not how it works. Just because we have those things doesn't mean "Okay! Let's add wizards and magic and winged creepers and bagels!" The killer bunny is just a rare, sly Monty Python easter egg. The cyclops laser fish is an original underwater mob, the kind of mob a lot of people asked for.
We already have potions and enchantment as our magic, and what you suggested seems like overkill there. And the whole magic/spellbooks/summoning isn't something Minecraft is about. A good chunk of that sounds easily exploitable and overpowered.

There have also been tons of suggestions about Herobrine and paint. It doesn't mean those ideas are good, and let's be honest, a creative underwater was long overdue.

The last part is correct, assuming by exploit you mean use over and over and over again Then you can't because you have to craft the special books then you have to use tin to research the spell And when your spell book runs out you will have to do this all over again by the time you get enough tin to get all four tables, multiple spellbooks and enough tin there will no longer be a reason to exploit this.

True and please actually tell me how to improve the thread rather than discussing rabbits and guardians
Also I simply meant that many strange and extremely unique thing have been added recently
I dont like the way you get the spells, and i think some of the spells are pretty overpowered (like stun or kill), but other than that, i like the concept of having spells
No support. Too complicated for a game like Minecraft. If experienced players want this, they can play Hexxit. First of all, Hexxit is long gone! Unless you'd looped into 1.5, we have Hexplore it.Second of all your not supposed to say "Get a mod!" Or something similar.Third of all, we have brewing, which is very complicated! However, I do like this idea. Support.

Stun gives the target slowness X for 5 seconds and kill only works for non bosses. Also you can only use a spell book so many times before you need to recharge it which costs tin

Even though I don't like the idea, this statement is false. With the 1.8 update killing skeletons, creepers, etc (all mobs with a creative mode head) will drop their head with a 100% percent drop rate. (ONLY when killed by a charged creeper's explosion.)

Don't be afraid to report vague, wishlisty, or redundant (Maybe all three) suggestions. Leave a post saying what's wrong.
Even though these items have been suggested anymore, he provided a lot of detail which makes it unique.
