-Pigs can be fed any foodstuffs except poison potatoes, pufferfish, spider eyes and pork to be bred, as pigs in real life eat almost anything.
-When bred, pigs have a 40% chance to come out in two.
-Pigs are naturally attracted to pre-spawned mushrooms, similar to how other passive mobs are attracted to light and grass.
Otherwise, I'd want to try out the stuff with the pigs before I made a decision about it. I can't give that stuff my immediate support.
How about they can be bred with any foodstuff except poisoned potato, spider eye, pufferfish, etc? Then it's more balanced.
Also, it has been posted at least 3 times in 2 days to improve pigs.
Thanks for the suggestion, added to OP.
And yeah, I was inspired by the "Crackling/Wallpaper" thread to buff pigs, and I tried to make my thread unique from the others.
Now that a random and pointless argument is over...
Seriously, Horses can do all of these as well, why add this?
Horses don't have as easy access to armor, aren't as small, can't fight mobs or knock them back, or warn you if a mob is coming while your sidetracked. Not to mention, pigs need a buff IMHO.

Makes sense, I wanted to get the less controversial suggestions up front, and sense there is no mod that does exactly this, I can only say, it's like the "Battle Mobs" mod combined with the "Pig Companion" mod. Semi-Thanks for Semi-Support!

So from alll your pics we could equip pigs with helmets
what if the matierial of helmet had an effect instead of protection?
leather- increased detection range for oinks
gold- increased pigs running speed and attack frequency up to 5 attacks every 30 seconds
iron- gave 20% protection and boosts damage to 1 heart
diamond- gives 40% protection and boosts damage to a max 2.5 hearts 9would act likie shaprness in the sense that its a percentage of doing this maximum , but can do less depending on luck) , but reduces mob detection range. increases attack to 5 attacks in 20 seconds
Then, give porkchops more purpose- they have a higher saturation of steak, but less than a golden carrot.
Thoughts on my ideas?

I don't know, this idea already has alot of negativity around it, so complicating this already over-complicated idea probably won't help
Pigs have a rare chance to (1/25?) to drop their curly tails. Their tails are used in potion brewing, but I have not thought of what kind of potion. Pigs wearing helmets is awesome, and probably hilarious looking.
Pros:
Pigs as your companion will be unique pet, rather than fighting with mobs to the death or scaring away creepers, pigs will oink louder as mobs get within a certain range, around 20 - 30 blocks as an early warning system for quieter mobs like creepers, or after mobs lock on to you. (I like this idea the most)

Pig being equipped with a helmet. Super cute idea.
Cons:
Everything in the Pros section is good and makes the pig a little bit more even with the rest of the other mobs.
Everything in the Neutral section is not a bad idea, but it isn't great either. I believe it actually makes the pigs a little overpowered compared to the other mobs that we're trying to get equal with.
Neutral:
The pig(s) will then attempt to headbutt or kick the mobs to stop them from getting close to you by knocking them back 1-3 blocks, doing small amounts of damage (1/2 - 1 heart) with a moderate recharge before the next attack. Most enemies will ignore your pig pet, however zombies would like to use your tamed for a snack if you're not careful, and wild wolves don't have a problem with pork chops. (It certainly adds value to actually having a pet pig and personality, it's just something I wouldn't personally take interest in, and as mentioned in my Cons, it does seem a bit over powered.)
The Pig having a chest/crafting table/furnace is a bit far fetched in my opinion... It would be good to add, but it's just far fetched. It would be good to carry extra items because horses and mules are definitely much larger than pigs, but otherwise, it's still..... far fetched, lol.
Additional Comments:
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.. I just feel bad that you've been getting such negative criticism without any reasoning behind some of it. Don't let it get you down, you had the guts to at least post a suggestion. (:

The pigs-eat anything (including rotting flesh) idea is great. It alone would make pigs worth farming.
Pigs should drop one leather when slain (pig-skin anyone?)
Pigs should mature more quickly than Cows and Horses (or cows & horses should take longer, and possibly require grass-grazing actions), making pigs more economical, especially early in survival.
We shouldn't try to make pigs into everything-animals, so I object to the taming, armoring, alarming etc. Pigs become powerful enough as soon as they start turning rotting flesh into piglets who then grow into pork-chops in about one quarter of the time it takes to raise a cow.
There's a lengthy discussion of pigs in a thread about making leather relevant, but I already see most of the highlights here.
Uh...

Now the minuscule chance this drastic change to how pigs work in minecraft will be implemented has increased very slighty...

I respect your opinion, but could you give a reason or reasons why? It would help me either defend the idea, or give your opinion more weight.

but still, what do you think of matierals altering it? might be complicated but...
