This is a fairly simple idea but would make things much easier for map makers and server owners using vanilla. What it would do is allow you to put your signed book and a command block into an anvil to give a command block preloaded with the code for that book to be given. Would be much simpler than trying to write it in the command line and risk going over the 255 characters limit thus ruining the book.
That's not a terrible idea, but what do you mean by "to be given"? How would this function outside each specific map? You can't exactly transfer an item with data on it from one map to the next.
Also, how would this get around the many errors books have with their text entry? Each page would provide a split in the command that MC might not know how to deal with.
Just some things to think about.
