I think that Mojang should add uncrafting tables to vanilla MC.
This Would Help If say…
You are running back to your house with your 24 diamonds. You get in and Zombies start to break down your doors. You quickly craft your armor. You realize the you crafted 2 diamond chest plates instead of one. You cry so badly and you delete the world.
If These were in the game…
You shove them into your crafting table and get your diamonds back.

This would seem like a good idea, but it would be hard to do.

I find this useless. I mean, if you make two diamond chest plates, you aren't gunna cry and delete the world. No one does that. You can use iron for the rest of your armor. And the question, as ArrogantLobster said, "What would it do for items that are damaged?" And you never really have a reason to "uncraft" an item.

What is stopping me from making a diamond sword (as an example), waiting for it to get to low durability, then un-crafting it, and re-crafting it back? I would get my sword back with full durability.
Also, overly suggested, unoriginal name, overpowered, and likely not going to happen.

This Would Help If say… A very common rule in the suggestions thread is to search for a topic before posting. If this was an original idea, no one would be hating on you.

This is a little dramatic.

You shove them into your (Un)crafting table and get your diamonds back.

Actually, no. It would be fairly simple to code.
An easy solution is to multiply the percentage of durability remaining with the number of units required to make the tool, rounded down, so you'd get only a stick if you tried that, or one diamond for durability between 50 and 100%, and only if it were undamaged would you get two back; similarly, for a chestplate it would be in increments of 1/8 and a shovel would only ever return one if undamaged.
However, this isn't really needed, although for some items it would be nice if you could uncraft them in some way, such as turning sandstone back into sand or quartz blocks back into quartz, but you don't need an uncrafting table for that.

Perhaps deal with the zombies beforehand, or just use iron doors. If you can find 24 diamonds, you can find enough iron to make iron doors. If you accidentally make 2 diamond chestplates (which is kind of strange to accidentally do that?), it's no one's fault but your own.
You don't need to "cry so badly" and "delete the world" after doing something like. Not the best example really.
You shove them into your crafting table and get your diamonds back.
And have players abuse this system into getting tons of stuff back.

Yeah, I know that you could do something like that. But the OP didn't specify.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

No I don't.

Killing the Ender Dragon, no damage (no armor/potions/enchantments/pumpkin)
Or better yet, damaged items cannot be uncrafted at all.
