The concept:
A redstone-activated box that plays a certain sample at a certain frequency.
Crafting method
How it works:
You put a certain object inside the music box, and it alters the sound:
Gold: Harp Sound
Iron: Guitar Sound
Wood: Xylophone Sound
Diamond: Crystal Sound
Redstone: electronic sound
Log: Percussions
Arrow: Skeleton sounds
Gunpowder: Creeper sounds
And so on...
The interface
So, it is extremely basic: You put an item in the slot to change the sample, you choose the output volume and note (or sample, say, for percussions) with the sliders, and you test it with the play button.
After that, every time the music box is activated by a redstone current, it will play the same sample with the same settings.
Uses:
Walktune: A tune that progresses when you walk forward on pressure plates.
Doorbell: Ding-dong!
Stranger Scarer: Make a circuit that plays monster sounds to scare away strangers in SMP!
Other uses can be found with user creativity, of course.
*BUMP*
Sorry about that, but I'd hate to see my post ignored because it was overridden by other topics.
I've thought a lot about this feature, and like to have some feedback, so this bump was kind of important.
Should of picked a less active time for this thread...
