In the current game, we can either have peaceful mode, which is kinda boring, or easy+ witch is full o' nasties (creepers mainly).
What I would like, is more control over the difficulty of Minecraft, rather than:
Peacful - BORING
Easy+ - CREEPERS!
This will allow me (and others) to have more fun in the game by being able to fight some monsters, without having everything we work hard to make blown apart by creepers.
~Possible settings~
-Which monsters you would like/not like to see, so you can have zombie survival if you wanted, or creeper mayhem!
-spawn rate - how often enimes spawn, (high, med, low, none etc) so we dont get swamped by enimes when we exit our house (unless we wanted to :tongue.gif:).
-health regen (on/off) I sometimes want to play peacful, WITHOUT my hearts regenerating on their own, as i want to actually have a use for food in peacful mode.
-day/night lenght (eternal, long, short, etc) - you could have a world in contstant darkness, where strategic placement of light is cruicial, or a paradise of contstant bright daylight, with monsters only underground.
-monster health (higer, normal, lower etc) how tough do you want the enimies to be when you fight them?
-own health (higher, normal, lower etc) you can be on the edge of death, or the top of health.
-monster destruction (on,off?) toggels whether monsters will attack walls etc to get to you, would be at same destruction speed as own fist.
those are all the ones I can think off currently, feel free to suggest more.
~Possible game modes~
Zombie survival~High health, high spawn rate, zombies only, eternal night, destruction ON, own health low.
Fight for your life as an army of undead tries its best to tear you apart!
Creeper mayhem! - simalar to above, but with creepers instead.
How do you like craters?
Paradise island - own health high, no monsters, eternal day,
Build what your heart desires!
(of course theres hundreds more, but you can decide them yourself :smile.gif: )
~summary~
This update will allow players of ALL types to have more fun in the game by setting the Difficulty to what THEY want, the standard 5 modes would remain, but the custom mode would just add on.
This is NOT an attempt to remove creepers, but to allow people the choice whether or not to see them.
EXTRA!
The more complicated settings would be under an "advanced settings" tab, so as to not confuse newer players (thanks ActionSplash for the idea )
NEW! - Now we have a banner! Show your love for custom dificulty!
All :Diamond:'s for the banner go to xtenext, thank you!
Here are the updated banner Images all the + are for xtenext.
Hmmm,
@ the guy above me^
My intention was for enimies to only dig/attack walls and things in their attempts to reach the player e.g. smash windows and walls to get in your house. as i belived this could add extra tactics to builiding design, so a builiding made of dirt would'nt be as good as a building made of stone.
If enimies attacked things for no reson, it could cause major issues when you decide to go exploring away from home, only to come back to a base that isnt their anymore.
I would play like this: Only Creepers, high spawn rate, health regen off, short day/night, low monster health, high own health, no monster destruction.
And if I could add my own I would add:
>Creeper terrain damage: Creepers destroy blocks in explosions.
>Creeper mine: Creepers turn all destroyed blocks into an EXACT resource block.

sirlolzalot, please dont leave such short, blantley negitive posts, expand on why you dont likethe idea thanks.
And at the guy above me ^ ok I can see your resoning to your views, but what i am suggesting is that they could start by playing in a noraml difficulty, then change it later on when they understand the game better.
As a mod, would be nice, but these can be difficult to work, would only be available to some and may not always run.
I was thinking along the same lines. Great idea really. As a sandbox game, more control over specifics would enable more possibilities for the players which goes right along with the spirit of the sandbox game. Controlling physics variables would be cool too. Of course, this might confuse some users and as such, some settings should be listed under "Advanced Settings" or something else to that effect.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback :smile.gif:
something like: if you are seen by mobs then the would dig/explode in order to get you, not just randomly dig.
and you should add fov, to set the distance at which mobs see you
Creeper Slime Fest - Killing a creeper will turn it into two mini creepers, with halved the explosion and damage and halved the health. Killing em again will halve it again, and so on until it's killed 3 times.
I love this idea, I would probably leave the options to whatever corresponds to Normal, but I would greatly increase the amount of zombies that spawn AND turn up how often spider jockeys appear... I've never even seen one yet.
Really though, I want more difficult monsters. And not something boring like just taking a zombie and giving it 1000 HP. In the mean time, though, I can at least make more spawn. :smile.gif:

The beauty of this system is that every person could play the game exactly like they wanted, so each game could be 100% different

Bingo! This is my EXACT point, I want to be able to control the game more.
And also good idea on the "advanced settings" thing, im adding it to the front post :smile.gif:
Im gonna do it now!
^ThiS^
Also, i read those threads, but they seem quite differnt to mine, but i thank you for showing me to them.
Im still gonna keep my thread if thats ok, and try and develop it as much as i can.
Thanks for posting guys :smile.gif:
