Relatively small (About the size of a chicken), with a bushy tail a bit larger than a chicken's head. Pink nose and a white stripe. This mob appears at both day and night, although they are fairly rare. It appears in peaceful mode, as well. This mob doesn't appear in groups, just a singular skunk wandering around. Monsters and other friendly mobs are repelled from the skunk and try not to get near it. The skunk has more health than a chicken, but fewer health than a pig.
The skunk is not hostile, but will attack if you get too close to it. You can avoid attack if you sneak up behind the skunk or taking it by surprise and slaying it. The attack does no damage, it simply gives the player a repulsive smell. This is both a good and bad thing, because the smell scares away friendly mobs and monsters alike. The smell can only be removed by waiting for it to wear off. If you soak yourself in water, the waiting time is lessened greatly.
Upon death, skunks have a chance of dropping a green vial, which contains its spray. The vial can be used on most walls or floors, and creates a green glaze over whatever surface it was placed on. This glaze repels monsters and friendly mobs, and prevents any from spawning there. The glaze wears off in 2-3 minecraft days.

So I just beat Minecraft. The final guy is pretty hard. It's not Herobrine if you are wondering, but I don't want to spoil it, it's a pretty big plot twist.

I apologize for the double post, but, suggestions...? Anybody?

Rubbing a vial of stench on your house seems like a bit much... maybe you could track it around, and if enough of the smell collects in a certain area, it will repel hostile mobs (Except maybe a new one attracted by foul odors? :tongue.gif:). I wouldn't expect it to repel neutral mobs though, considering:
What do you mean by "tracking the smell around?" And you're probably right about the neutral mobs not being repelled by the stench, I don't know much about that sort of thing
Also, cow anus was unnessecary >_>

As in, the smell doesn't just keep mobs away from you. It's like you leave behind an invisible light wherever you go, so mobs will stay away from any area you pass over too much as you will be increasing the "brightness" to intolerable levels. Perhaps neutral mobs can be scared off, but only if an area's smell is ridiculously strong.

I have an idea for this mod... Make the skunk's spray give the player a nausea effect, because, I've been around a few skunks in my life, and the smell can make you nauseous.
Relatively small (About the size of a chicken), with a bushy tail a bit larger than a chicken's head. Pink nose and a white stripe.
Awww, it sounds adorable.

Well, thank goodness. Skunks always seem to go solo anyway.
Monsters and other friendly mobs are repelled from the skunk and try not to get near it.
Aww, I guess he's only adorable until he sprays other mobs.
The skunk has more health than a chicken, but fewer health than a pig.

This is a lot different from normal mob AI, where it will sense you and turn around anyway, even if you're trying to be really sneaky.I like it.

We should add tomatoes and make juice for this purpose.

I feel as though a vial is a weird thing to drop from a 100% organic animal... maybe a stink sac or something?

It becomes provoked when you hit it, or sprint at it. Then the skunk would turn their back on the player. If the provoker does not leave a 7-block radius, it will raise its tail, tip down. Then it will raise it all the way, spray the provoker, and then run away slowly. The spray is, in a nutshell, yellow particles moving at a fast speed towards the attacker. The general effects would be nausea, slowness, and will do about as much damage as a snowball would do. It will give blindness if the provoker is hit in the head. water will make it last longer (this is IRL, just a heads-up), but another new item, Tomato Juice, will remove the effects if you jump in a pool of it.
Drops
The skunk would drop 0-1 Skunk Tails which can also be used to make beds, 0-3 Skunk Hide, and the most useful one, 0-2 Scent Glands. these are edible, but not that you should eat them. It will give a nausea effect when eaten for about 15 minutes or so. The REAL usage for these is that they can be brewed into a Potion of Reeling (Nausea Potion). Brewing those with a Fermented Spider Eye will make a Potion of Blindness. However, if you put a Scent Gland with a Glass Bottle, it will make a Bottle of Spray. This can be thrown and used on mobs and players. If it hits a mob when thrown, the mob will go nuts, running around insanely and spinning in circles. if it hits a PLAYER, it acts the same way. it will give nausea and slowness, and if it hits the player's head, blindness is given. same way as if that player was sprayed. If it hits the ground, it will leave yellow particles where it hit. it will actively repel hostile and passive mobs whilst attracting skunks.
Taming
Skunks can be tamed with Wheat or Carrots. When they are tamed, they will gain an extra 2 hearts. They will follow the player, and spray whatever is attacking the player and what the player attacks. if the mob has been sprayed before, it will run away from the player.
Breeding
Skunks can be bred with any plant, or, on chance, can be bred with meat. The babies will follow their mother but can get lost. If they do, they will make high pitched cat noises. there is a 60% chance that their parents will find them. if they do not, they will wander around.
Rivalries
Dogs and Skunks happen to be rivals. Dogs will presently attack Skunks, but they will most likely get sprayed. then that dog will avoid skunks altogether, including the entire pack.
Armor
Skunk Hide and Skunk Tails can be made into accessories that can be worn. Skunk Tails can be worn off the bat, but if you place one in a crafting bench with a Scent Gland, it allows you to spray. To raise/lower it, you simply hit SHIFT. When raised, you can spray other things by pressing and holding your Sneak key. When you press Sneak, you can see behind you to accurately aim at your target, then release to fire. If you put a Skunk Tail with a Skunk Fur Jacket (8 Skunk Hide in a "chestplate" pattern), It will now when worn, display a tail as well as the armor. It works with Scent Glands the same way.

I'd say grass, like other neutral mobs.

This isn't mo creatures, this is Suggestions.
I HAVE SPECIAL EYES! D:
I need to go cry for a moment before commenting on the skunk...
"On a scale of one mile to Lord of the Rings, how far did you walk today?"
TRY THIS!
