im not sure... which is why im posting this but i dont think the "seeds" are online related... i think its like those keygens where you can type random stuff and it will use what you typed to create a password. encryption stuff ect.
my conclusion is that the seeds are in the code itself in a way and not spread online. because otherwise they wouldnt work offline. but they do. thats my thought. and if you find out more. like how that system works. and how we can "shape" our worlds with it. plz post it
seriusly. if you dont believe me. disconect your computer internet and try with one from the forum. you will get the exact same seed type.

Here's your explanation. If you enter a string of text, the process used to convert it into an integral value is in fact not very different to the process most websites use to store an impression of your password (many sites/systems do NOT store a textual password, just the results of processing it in some way and the process itself).
There are very few true-randomness generators. It's impossible in software alone, so we have psudo-random generators, like the one minecraft uses. You put in a number, and it spits out a number. For example
1 would spit out 215
2 would spit out 102
so on and so forth, it looks very random, until you put many numbers together. The seed is the initial number you put into the generator

I think seeds are just random numbers which cause random biomes in random terrains.
Randomly.
Based off an illustration by Blonz.
1 would spit out 215
2 would spit out 102
so on and so forth, it looks very random, until you put many numbers together. The seed is the initial number you put into the generator
