so i spawned a survival world, default world generation, and ended up with a spawn that had an odd glitch to it.
When i recreate the seed, i spawn in the Extreme hills, on a snowy plateau, but these images are from the top of the nearest hill to the spawn on this glitched world.
Another odd thing, when you climb to the top of the those glitched hills, it still reads as Y-axis 69, even though the bottom of them read as 69 as well.
Just wondering what might have caused this? Is it the seed? or did soemthing happen as the world generated?

So would you like to tell us the seed and Minecraft version you are playing on?
I know this sometimes happens in seeds, in TU44 Xbox 360 edition to be exact, when the edges of the world were glitched, but never seen it in PC edition before. Whats the seed and version?

I don't even play Minecraft much anymore yet here I am on the Minecraft forums for some reason...
This is an extremely common bug that is caused by the game not deleting old files properly when you delete a world (due to improper client-server synchronization, a bug that can be fixed in a few lines of code):
(I've seen several other threads about the same thing within the last few days)
Also, this has nothing to do with the seed and cannot be reproduced (even if you reproduce the bug it won't look the same since what you see is actually the result of two different seeds, with the buggy terrain being generated with a different seed, and this also depends on what you explored in the old world).
Well then, that explains it, since i was trying to get an island survival seed, and kept using the same name for the worlds as i made and rejected them.
Its an interesting effect, and i might try to recreate an another time, till then, just going to keep this one, maybe build a house in one of the exposed cliff faces.
1. If you're not, I suggest that you use the random feature of Amidst (see my sig.) to search for an island spawn world.
2. Use the seed displayed by Amidst (hit Ctrl-C) to name the world when you create it.
(this prevents using the same name twice)(If I create it again I add a letter to the name a,b,c, etc.)

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
