I was so mad at this seed when I crossed the desert @ spawn, but once I hit an archipelago of sand islands, that evaporated. Just beyond the farthest-most island, there's a mooshroom island with several enormous caves. Exactly beneath the mooshroom island is a mineshaft AND a stronghold, complete with library and End Portal.
The Desert Village west of spawn (Steve icon) doesn't exist.
The Desert Temple on the island does and has an emerald, several diamonds, and 15 gold.
The Desert Village on the other island does exist and has 3 buildings (2 libraries) and 1 field (carrots & wheat).
