IT DOESN'T WORK AT NIGHT! Due to the principle of operation from two sensors of daylight and moonlight, the latter is illuminated at night. There is no way to avoid this. At night, the mechanism itself turns off, so as not to confuse the average player with their illuminated lamps.
It is triggered instantly, as soon as the command to change the weather is activated, it immediately reacts. Because if you switched to the signal "Thunderstorm", then believe the mechanism, and not your eyes), so seconds later the sky will darken and it will rain. Of course, if everything is done correctly and checked.

I almost forgot... I have Minecraft pocket edition V. 1.14.60, but the mechanism works on earlier versions. I can't say anything about Java, it hasn't been tested in the field. My gadget on Android 4.4, if I have no problems pulling any of my mechanism, then you should all work.

And so you seem to have a good scheme, but it's too cumbersome, the main thing is the availability of the mechanism, ease of manufacture. You can do everything less, so why build them on the floor of the sky? For example, a 7-segment indicator can be built with the dimensions 7×5×9 (as a counter), and 7×5×13 (for displaying any given digit). Switch signals through a 3×4×10 leather frame to enable 7 positions or devices. And so on. and so... In General, I will think and create an alphabet indicator with a screen of 7×5, in theory, the size should be 9×7×29... somewhere like this.

yea it can be useful for bunkers
