Sacheverell inspired me to take the Shulker Box storage concept and redesign it making it tileable/expandable and only 2 wide. The final version is 2 wide x 6 deep x 5 high (+1 down) and is ready for you to add your item sorting system.

You will notice the exposed redstone torch in the front. I could find no other way to configure it and keep it 2 wide.
