the basic tellraw command is /tellraw (text). The benefit of tellraw is that your name will not appear next to the text, like /say does. So if you want to make your name appear, you have to enter /tellraw (insert name):(insert text), ex: soup1039:Hi world!.
Colors:
To write colors, you have to use the "color" variable. To write the command, use /tellraw (text){"color":(insert color)}Ex: /tellraw @p {"text":"hi","color":"red"}
Here's a list of colors:Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow, Dark_Red, Dark_Green, Dark_Blue, and Gold.
Fancy Font:
Writing font is fairly simple. Use the basic /tellraw command, and write {"(insert font)":true}. The fonts you can use are:italic, underlined, and bold.
How To Use Both:
To use both font and color, write a comma between the variables. Ex: /tellraw {"color":"green","bold":"true"}
/tellraw <player> <raw json message>
As example like:
/tellraw @r {"text":"Hello there","color":"light_purple","bold":true}
and then the Player would see that, you can change the color That there is light purple(light_purple) do anything else, yet the text too, you can remove the bold and in the end dont forget to place }

Some points:
The syntax for tellraw is /tellraw <player> <text in JSON>
You have to specify a player before the text.
The message must be completely in JSON format, which means you can't type /tellraw @p hi{"color":"red"}, as hi is not correctly formatted, instead do
/tellraw @p {"text":"hi","color":"red"}
When using booleans (things you indicate as true or false), you must have the true/false in quotes as well:
/tellraw @p {"text":"hi","bold":"true"}
I'm sorry to be that guy who corrects everything
Oops! Sorry, that was a mistake. I'll fix ASAP . Thanks so much! (Its my first time posting, so next time I'll triple check it :D)
do use Tellraw you need to do the next thing:
and then the Player would see that, you can change the color That there is light purple(light_purple) do anything else, yet the text too, you can remove the bold and in the end dont forget to place }
Hope I Helped.
Gray (must be spelled that way) and Aqua are also supported
I sometimes make modpacks.
