This guide is awesome. Started with working redstone recently and hit some bumps...this lowered those bumps and helped me understand that I can make gates much smaller than I've been doing.
It's a very good tutorial! You obviously spent a lot of time working on the tutorial! It helped me quite a bit, although. It told me a similar and easier way to make a redstone clock. :Skeleton::Zombie::Sheep::Notch::SSSS::Pig:
Wow. I am SO glad I found this topic because the Wiki made ZERO sense to me.
I've only been playing Minecraft for about a week now so I didn't know much at all about what the powers of Redstone were (Besides making a lever open a door that's a couple blocks away). I actually tried making a few things yesterday that would be classed as "XOR/RSNOR/MonostableCircuit" but all of them failed for the simple fact that I didn't know how to utilize the redstone torches [IE Didn't know that they could be turned off]. Also the fact that I didn't think to connect the buttons and what not together :laugh.gif: . I wasted a LOT of time on that failed project.
Back on topic though.
I read EVERYTHING in your guide and was Alt+Tabbing with creative mode to test out everything I was reading. I now feel confident enough to make some half decent things now =D
Thanks a bunch!!! (And +1, for whatever that does for you)
Glad you liked it! I actually really enjoyed your video. Few things, if you chose to cover basics, you need to cover them slowly and as clearly as you can. You have a confident voice and seem to know what your are talking about, but if you slow it down, and take one thing apart at a time, I think it could be even better. Good luck.

Yeah, I really didn't start Redstone all that long ago, and I definitely remember looking at the wiki and being immediately discouraged. I'm happy to hear that my guide is functioning as I hoped it would.
@Diggydug1, KirbyVoid, rock100010000, TheCognite, AssasinBinnatov, TigerClaw, Aleq, RosyQ, and everyone on Page 4 of the comments, thanks for the continued support. Having people like you respond is the reason I do this. So thanks.
Quick Update everyone: I am starting up at a new University and my new place has pretty crappy internet so I won't be updating/replying to comments as frequently as I would like to. Still, please keep giving feedback and let me know if you want to see additional information posted on the guide. Thanks.
Great guide. Like so many others here, I tried to get into redstone by looking at the wiki, but I found it incomprehensible. And intimidating. Then I took a look at this guide, and the pieces started to fall into place. I'm still a redstone novice, but I just managed to successfully create my own hidden piston door, and it feels very rewarding.
Now I'm going back to the guide to study up some more and see how I can improve my door. I just wanted to say thanks!
This really helped me understand some things I didn't know before. They should should get rid of most of the wiki page on redstone and put this there instead.
This is my redstone guide
I learned quite a lot, thanks!

Thank you so much for making this guide. It is far cleaner and easier to use than the wiki.
