Whats the most compact way to move redstone power upwards?
I know I could make a 2x2 spiral staircase, but I'm almost sure theres another way.
Like how using slabs (Or glowstone) you can move it downwards with a 2x1 thing
So anyone go any ideas?
The most compact way would be to use wireless command-block redstone.
You could make a 2x1 glowstone staircase up. Or a 1x1 redstone torch tower. Or a bunch of sticky pistons with redstone blocks on top that power eachother (advantage is there's an instant falling edge).

How do I do the wireless thing? For future reference, but I'm looking for a survival way to move it up
The glowstone staircase can only send power downward
Glowstone only sends power upwards, and not downwards.
If you're doing this in survival, no command blocks.
Could you tell me what this is for?
Alright let me start by saying, I am a idiot
Ignore the whole post other than this, because I'm stupid
I need a compact way to move it downwards, and glowstone only sends it upwards
Also how would I do it with a command block?
And the piston thing doesn't work for upwards, it glitches the pistons to always stay out
Use pistons for downwards
Or use a downwards kinda like redstone torch tower.
As for command blocks:
First run this command once:
scoreboard objectives add nowire dummy
Command to turn on and off signal:
scoreboard players set @p nowire 1
scoreboard players set @p nowire 0
Command at the output that should be a command block on a clock with a comparator sticking out of it:
testfor @p[score_nowire_min=1]
The pistons again glitch to always be out,
And then theres a really weird glitch I just found that makes them stand out without being powered in the first place ._.
Here is a pretty compact way of sending a signal down.
Sending it up is even easier.
I hope this helps.
Also, this version shouldn't mess up your timing. The reason the other version is messing up your timing is because of the delay between piston extensions.
The reason why it's screwing up your timing is because of the instant falling edge. I consider this a good thing, but it might not always be. ;-)
Oh yeah. That's right lol I forgot about the instant falling edge. That's a cool 1x1 design with the pistons and redstone blocks. I might make use of it some time
@CaptainSandbox As fz0718 mentioned, without a command block you have a few options. The design he showed (Which unfortunately messes up your timing) and he also mentioned a 2x1 downwards like tower which I showed a picture of. You last option would be the spiral but I don't recommend that if you have to send it down a long ways.

Here, I think you misunderstood me. This is what I meant.
Oh

it messes up the timing on it, I'm only using 1 piston though

Support this if you're interested in reducing lag whilst simultaneously expanding the game.
Just have the command block at the input do "setblock *coordinates 152"
152 is id for redstone block
Make the output 1 block away from the redstone block and you should be fine
ex: output at 100 5 100, set the coordinates to 100 5 101
Well if you don't prefer snapshots this isn't an option until 1.7 comes out
