I've been getting a lot of PMs for information on some of my creations, like my slime farm and mushroom farm. Since I don't have the tools to make video tutorials on how to build them, I spent the past few days making blueprints and image tutorials for some of my stuff. Take it or leave it, I had a lot of fun making these images. I'm also up for any suggestions you might have!
Cool. +1 to you, I've always wanted a mushroom and slime farm.
Heh, thanks! I'm a farmaholic. I have 2 mushroom farms, a slime farm, cactus farm, HUGE wheat farm, sugarcane farm, a farm for each type of tree, and a grinder for each type of dungeon. I technically have a mob grinder, but it doesn't work as well as when I built it (around 1.2).
Thanks for posting this! I thought of that mushroom farm myself, and I saw the slime farm thing in another topic, but I didnt see the storage or tree blueprints yet.
Its also nice to see a tutorial thats both well illustrated AND legible.
Very well done sir, clear and easy to understand.
Mind posting a blueprint of an auto sugar cane/reed farm? Is it even possible or worth the effort to make one? I'll leave you with that thought.

I've actually never made an automated reed or wheat farm, because at the time it wasn't efficient. When I maxed out my wheat supplies (2 double chests worth), water didn't make seeds. Pistons didn't exist for sugarcane at the time, and now I have all the sugarcane I could ever make. But I might see if I can work something out!
Haha it's just that walking and punching the tops of the reeds and collecting is just so repetative and boring.
Cheers.
I've always found that replanting them is more annoying than manually harvesting. Even to this day, thats my problem with auto-wheat farms. By the time you go through again, half the dirt has reverted, and I have to haul a hoe with me.

theres this gy on a server i was on, he had a wheat farm so big that it made you laggy and all you could see was wheat. prob at least 1000-2000 blocks of wheat (im not sure)

Help my dragons grow and get some of your own They will eventually become full grown dragons!

Hahaha, thats impressive! Mine has a yield of 640, (8 plots of 9x9 with, hydrated with a water block in the middle). Mine fills a full double chest in only 6 harvests, so I can't even imagine a 2000 block field, especially with all the animals trampling it.
Very nice do u have a blue print for a ssp mob trap and grinder ?
I don't, because they don't seem to work well anymore. At least, mine doesn't. It was never a HUGE grinder, and it was never particularly effective, but in recent updates its output has dropped tremendously; it used to give 200-300 items an hour, now it gives about 30.
I really like the storage system; it was the first thing I came up with when I made my current house, which I have been using since February. Unfortunately, multiple updates have increased the number of items. I used to have a chest for every item except multiple types of tools. Now I'm several dozen short! When I finally make a new house during the 1.8 update, I will remake it.
You see how the storage wall curves around? I have two floors where 3 of the walls are solid storage like that, about 12 chests across, though each column only has 2 chests, unlike the one depicted in my schematic. The 4th wall of the first floor leads to a vault of high value items, the 4th wall of my second floor has a large overstock of coal and 24 furnaces in the wall.
I will either have to make a 3rd floor, or expand the walls in my next iteration.

Just MS Paint! Lots of copy and paste! And thank you very much!
