If you have played Legend of Zelda Mojaras Mask/Ocarina of time (I forget which one) You play a wall game where you have to get to the chest but walls pop up if you go the wrong direction kind of like a maze except the walls aren't up. I'm trying to make this in Minecraft but i don't know how I would do this with pistons since the push only one block up and I don't want to show the pistons. Is there a way to do this with pistons?

You would have to use command blocks for this to work. Command blocks can activate based off of a player's position. You would then want sticky pistons above and below tied to those command blocks along with a quick pulsing clock to keep the command blocks checking for the player proximity.
You would have to have a two-block high corridor, and use sticky pistons hooked up to pressure plates or command blocks. Command blocks are hidden, but require a clock (smallest clock is a hopper clock). Pressure plates are easier to use, but are visible.
The only alternative to pistons is sand/gravel, but it can get really annoying to set up and will require falling sand spawners.
hey just a bit of help you can learn about redstone and command blocks from probably the only person who may know more than mojang itself is sethbling, hey he taught me all i know and has helped me alot

The problem with pressure plates is that you couldn't have them on the moved blocks because they would be destroyed.... this would mean that just by looking at the floor the person could figure out the path without interacting with the mechanic he is designing.

Good point. You would have to use command blocks then.
