i was wondering if there was such a thing as a redstone block breaker that would use pistons to crush a block and make it drop... maybe using a glitch or something cause im making a automatic cobblestone factory that will generate destroy and funnel the cobblestone to a single point if anyone knows of a way i would be very greatful :biggrin.gif:

No, i have looked into this. It would be great but just cant be done.
You can generate then destroy cobblestone, just not make it drop. However, you should look up the sand duplication glitch. Great for tnt or glass thought it doesnt work on smp and doesnt do much if you already use single player commands or too many items.

I managed to break a piston whilst making a timing mistake with a vertical sand-belt. Still trying to work out how I did it.
The only mod I was using was SPC.
If, by some freak chance the usual nonsense I generate seems to help you, there's a nice shiny green + button to tell me that I'm doing the right thing
The sand duplication glitch works like a charm with a four-repeater clock configuration at minimum delay. The only trouble is, it causes massive lag due to all the sand generation!
Make a contained room in which TNT would break the cobblestone coming in through a hole from the side. You wont have infinite TNT though, so make a creeper farm and sand farm. Just and idea.
I think it would be easier to just mine the cobble, instead of making a creeper and sand factory, and then making a TNT based cobble destroyer which you have to refill, and would be terribly inefficient.
For survival, it's not very practical. So, currently, there is no way to break things like cobble into blocks in an efficient manner.
There is a fully automatic, no need to reset/replentish, system out there. It is HUGE though. It basically uses a giant mob system that filters out everything but the creepers, then the player is repeatedly moved (via minecart) in front of them so that the creepers blow up an area of cobblestone that is constantly being replentished by cobblestone generators. Definitely not worth the effort, though.

Yeah, that one is very not practical at all... You could solve it doing a semi automatic one and save a lot of time, effort and materials just for almost the same result.
it is possible now, if you can manage to gather all the requirements for a Wither If you make the cobble gen push the blocks down on the wither, it'll destroy the blocks to drops and then can be collected

If you need any help with any computer issues, check my website for contact information. I also do Minecraft Mods... well basic ones, I can make blocks that do specific things. I've also dabbed into making Plugins... like before, simple plugins

That's about all I know of.
Actually a few designs still work, main drawback is you have to do it manually, although that is simple.

Experimenting. Starts. NAO!
hslm: Neat! Let us know!
