Recently i've started working on making some kind of nether gold farm in survival. There're already plenty of designs, but i came with my own one (i'm sure it was done before but i've discovered it myself) so here goes a first prototype showing how it will work:
Next time i'm gonna do a full sized farm in vanilla survival (not using SPC for clearing spaces) so it will be a lot of work especially on finding a good place for a farm in the nether. This video shows maximum theoretical spawn rate achievable in such a design (although there're still some unwanted spawnable blocks to cover) cause there're no spawn places in 256x128x256 volume around. It wont be that effective in real survival, but it promises much better yield to space taken and resources spent ratio than classic piston-push or trapdoor designs.
I'm also thinking about the ways to collect dropped loot like minecart rails or nether portals or something.
Tell me what you think and how could it be improved.
