Hey Kids, TaviRider here. I'd like to present a project called...
TaviRider's World of Redstone V2.0
Based on Minecraft version: 1.2.5
Project status: Building!
Minecraft Server Address: defenestration.co
Once you connect, walk to the Portal Hall (a building with neterrack columns visible from /spawn, just past the playground). The second portal on the right, a TARDIS, will take you to the World of Redstone portal room. You must be whitelisted to access this portal.
Background
So far over the previous version of the world, TaviRider's World of Redstone V1.1, has been downloaded over 10,000 times. But that world ran into two problems: Rapid Minecraft updates made the world out of date, and the project grew too large for one person to maintain.
I'm recruiting people from the Minecraft community to build the next version on a multiplayer server. I have a simple starting point already generated, a rough vision and plan for the elements in the world, and a plan for organizing the community to be able to contribute. Now all I need is an army of contributors to help turn this into the world's best resource for redstone!
Contributors
Several different skill sets are necessary for this project. Contributors can choose which level of responsibility and time commitment they want. This project needs contributors of all redstone skill levels, from redstone beginners to bleeding edge researchers. The roles described below are about project roles, not about knowledge of redstone.
If you would like to contribute, contact a Manager or an Architect.
Architects:
Architects are responsible for the overall quality of the entire world. They set the vision for the entire project, resolve disputes or design questions, and have nearly unlimited rights to modify the world.
TaviRider
Managers:
Managers are responsible for organizing the other contributors to the world. They set and enforce the Rules for Contributors, recruit contributors, set contributors roles, assign contributors to sections of the world, and set access rights on the server.
Senior Developers:
Senior Developers have broad rights to modify the world and are expected to contribute to and own major sections of the world. The following are all the Senior Developers, and the sections for which they are responsible.

World Sections
The following sections form a syllabus for someone learning redstone. Each section only builds on concepts described and explained in previous sections. For instance, Useful Constructions uses Logic Gates, but not Complex Gates.
The following is all the rules for behavior on the server. We expect people to behave maturely without needing to be told exactly how to do that, so the list is fairly simple:
Try not to digress from the project. No personal projects or major research; you get 1 warning on this.
Be respectful. No profanity, racism, homophobia, personal attacks, etc.
No griefing.
IT may ban for trying to damage the server or being a nuisance.
Managers may ban for rule violations or being a nuisance.
Architects may ban for working against the project's goals & Style Guide, rule violations, or being a nuisance.
Bans are permanent, no appeals. Do not bother arguing about others' bans.
You can also view the rules in the world. Type /warp rules to see them.
In-World Forum
There's a mini-forum in the world for quick communication. On the server, type /warp forum to see it.
Style Guide
In order to keep the world's look consistent and useful, I've published a Style Guide. On the server, type /warp styleguide to see it. All construction in the world must follow this Style Guide. The Style Guide will evolve along with the project.
Alright, So i can talk to jessassin [A.K.A The RDF server admin] To run it on another world. So to put it down i found "it" but it is a maybe i'll contact or he'll if it's a yes or no But i'm in for almost 24/7 help!
I've talked with shrogg, and decided that I will be hosting the server. Is there any way that I can get in contact with you so I can get the details of what you want on the server? I can add any sort of plugins/permissions that you like, but as of right now, I don't know what you would need for sure.
I don't really get on here much, but here are multiple other things that I check on a regular basis
Other than that this sounds like an EXCELLENT idea, and I can't wait to see the completed project, as your original world of redstone helped me a lot when I originally started creating redstone devices
I would love to contribute for IT (hosting/managing/already my day job) and Senior Dev, hiding redstone is what I love to do... massively. :biggrin.gif:
I'd love to help with being an IT. I know how to develop Bukkit plugins (I have made 2 plugins, but haven't posted them yet), and I know pretty much everything about Bukkit (due to lots of experience hosting my own server).
I'd love to join and contribute. I'm great at solving problems with redstone/piston mechanics, though I don't build massive things like calculators aside from guitar hero on FyreUK's server.
id like to help i can set up a server if jessasin is unable to do so and i can set up some texture packs if they are needed for vids and such. i also have a couple of redstone components that i have designed my self that are un listed on the wiki that i could build for you
I can make color-coded and clearly labelled devices whose function can be easily discerned, if you want anything like that.
My main expertise at the moment lies with RAM and ALUs.
