I made a bud switch that accidently craps out after 3 uses and thought I messed up my system and spent 3 hours checking it and realising it was a stupid bud switch...
Getting half way through making an adventure map and realising redstone doesn't update over large distances. Ruining the full map concept.
Oh man, I feel that one. It does update if they load every chunk inbetween, but if the transport method is death or interdimensional travel, you're screwed if there's more than 16 chunks inbetween.
That awkward moment when your giant piston scoreboard is wired to induce the the infamous piston glitch and you have to redesign the entire thing.
That awkward moment when you try to fit a gate in a tight space and you try doing it exactly the same 5 times because you keep forgetting why it wouldn't work.
I love that one!!!
My worst one is "That awkward moment that you cannot figure out why nothing is working in your computer, and it turns out that every piece of redstone wire disappeared."

I always wanted to argue with a brick wall, I suppose the internet is the second best option.
That awkward moment with redstone when you're testing a TNT trap, only to realize that you forgot a critical part of the design as you're rebuilding it.
That awkward moment with redstone when you have to keep adjusting a massive chain of repeaters until it's perfect. And you right click one of them without realizing once you're done...

That awkward moment when you spend months designing a tileable piston extender only to find that someone else has made one that's faster and more compact than yours, and isn't limited by the piston push limit.
That awkward moment with redstone when...You spend 3 weeks building an 8-bit redstone computer that was epic...then you delete your saves (and backups) before you can record it to make a video.
That akward moment with redstone when you build your contraption on wood logs then try to world edit something near and realize you have timber mod installed... BY BY 8 hours of work.
That awkward moment where you realize you just worked on a contraption for 5 hours straight, only to realize a major part of it is one block more than a piston's push limit.....
