I invented a fun little gambling game called "bonemeal slots." You place 7 grass pieces on the ground in a straight line and then use a piece of bonemeal on the center square. This makes a random number of tall grass and flowers to grow. I'm using the following as a jackpot:
1) 1 rose, 1 dandelion, and at least 1 tall grass
2) 3 flowers of the same color
3) 4 or more flowers of any color
4) Something growing in all 7 squares
Anyway it was a pretty fun game, but I got tired of having to break the flowers and tall grass by hand after each turn. So I whipped up this simple little NOT gate system of sticky pistons. I press a button and every grass square is cleared and ready for the next piece of bonemeal.
Probably best redstone creation... Thnx man my friend needed one of these :biggrin.gif:. What would be good is if there was a phazer that went of every 8 secs and it powered/depowered the pistons so you dont need 2 push the butto. Also what would be cool (My friends idea) would be making a multiplayer economy gambling server :biggrin.gif:.
AHA this is awesome! You could do it with any number of grass up to 7 i guess. I may use this in my server in my town. You are a genius! I have read a ton of your other threads, I have not once been disapointed :wink.gif:

Thanks! Yes, you can use less grass. I just picked 7 because bonemeal can only make grass grow up to 3 squares. 7 is just the maximum length. But you could make one just 3 grass blocks long for a more traditional slot machine.
1.0 boke this because pistons aren't considered a redstone device, but still doable.
Just use moar buttons.
I've been able to build it in 1.0 without difficulty. You could change the position of the button and the redstone wire too if that helps your design, it just requires a basic NOT gate.
what would be cool is if you could rig up a block update detector next to each piece of grass and to see if anythings grown, and rig that up to a dispenser to deal out the appropriate items. The one problem i thnk would be getting a small enough BUD, but maybe someone has done that?

How did 1.0 break it? I haven't tested it out since the update.

EDIT: Noticed someone else is also wondering this.
Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
