I wonder if we can be able to put sand ontop and what it will do then if flicked. Might just be a cheap way of doing sand traps with levers instead of signs. If that simply does not work I don't think it adds anything new regarding the technical aspect.

Doesn't work. Anyways it doesn't have to really add anything new, maybe it can improve designs but I'm sure we could find something. Also anyone find something for aesthetics?
It might be helpful if you need to fit more stuff into a small space without having redstone cross, or it would also work if you need to power something from below (Player-powered trap, secret exit, etc...)

it's about time they add upside down levers. you could make some 1 wide circuits easier now. Also, why not? why have levers on top and on sides of blocks?
I would mae it posible to send a signal downward in a 1x1 column, I think it would come in extremely handy in vertical logic circuits and pushing data onto buses.
i like the idea, and it was the same with trip wires. at the beginning everyone said they are useless. and now there are awesome contraptions out there.......
Now we need to be able to dye buttons and put them on top of blocks....

I didn't read the above replies, but to m, it's super useless. The only thing I can come up with is that some wiring could be more compact or neater. That's it.
So my question is what are you going to do with it?

That would actually be an intriguing idea...
