So, um, I don't really know how to start a topic but... I searched the forums (not much though) And didn't really find a main topic with a bunch of info on mob grinders/traps. I was thinking that the forums was missing A topic like that. So, for the people who Love this kind of stuff, or for people who want to get into making a simple one, I thought that this could be a thread to go to.
So basically, I would like the community to develop, experiment, test different designs for low resource dependent, decent mob grinders. Different designs for dungeon traps, and from scratch grinders. Traps for endermen made for the end specifically, ghasts, zombie pigmen... pretty much a farm made for every farmable mob there is. - A large Topic filled with this useful information! (who's with me?!)
First off on your journey through mob trap designs, Pick a category:
Dungeon Traps:

Scratch Traps:
Rantaoca's Horizontal Waterless Mob Farm
Horizontal Waterless Mob Farm ***GRINDER SOLD SEPARATELY*** :tongue.gif:
Description:
See, normally you find those huge towers for endermen, since it needs 3 layers per "drop," with pistons pushing them off each drop. This one uses an elongated double piston Caterpillar (explanation below) conveyor, (aka zig-zag conveyor) that I designed*. Explanation on it's used below.
Specs:
Size per module:It's diagonal, needs two extra blocks for the two pistons.
Compatibility: All hostile mobs**can be built in nether for pigman/blaze)
height per level: 5-8**
Pros:
Compatible with ALL hostile mobs**
Horizontal layout gives you more levels, meaning more spawn area!
Cheap! (I designd it with the fact that I'm going to to build one in SMP) soon
Easy TNT mining to create!
Extremely low chance of jamming!
Cons:
A bit slow on transporting mobs, speed scraficed for low jam rates
spider compatibility needs a workaround
Pictures:
Double piston caterpillar conveyor design
(yes, there's pressure plates next to the repeaters)
Note the stairs, they're too keep it from jamming. With stairs, the mobs HAVE to be on the spot in order to trigger the plate. Without stairs, they could be halfway on the pressure plate and get pushed into the wall.
Spider Zig Zag water conveyor (blue block is where the water source goes) Spider compatible farm (note that the water conveyor cover is 1 block high, keep it is a viable place to spawn more mobs!)

Because I assume there will be many different designs in the future, I will only ad important info, example design format, and links to different post designs in the correct format, I first want to figure out how to link posts.
I will update this op post every so often (once or twice a week maybe), with the latest info/designs and such.

YAY!
EDIT:
A download section at the very bottom is helpful!
to say, you had an excellent format for individual trap designs, but I was talking about a way to categorize different categories of traps. E.G. Main 2 are "spawner" (dunegeon) and "scratch" (non-dungeon). There will be sub categories and the traps go into.
