What is red stone?
I've done quite a bit of research and I have not found a substance that can be sprinkled across the ground and activated only by a torch of the same substance mysteriously glowing red and lighting the rest of the powder yet still remaining intact for extended periods of time, nor have I found a powder that can do the afore mentioned task while not only staying lit and alive (resisting wind and weather) but also transmitting energy or electricity throughout the entire chain of powder to other objects/receivers. Also, how does it the powder STICK? I've noticed if you place it on a block that is one block higher or one block lower the powder remains attached to the ground and yet the wall leading to the second level of ground (This also means that the powder has an invariable size seeing as 1 may cover 1 cubic metre whereas 2 in a different position may cover 3, the height and 2 widths.
What is the real-life equivalent of this substance?

Now that I think about it, this 'red stone' can also be activated by a powerless lever or button, what is this? Narnia?

A pressure pad can also be placed next to this substance to power it so minecraft has figured out a way to create a large source of energy (Enough to transmit as much, if not more power than this lit 'red stone') just from pushing down on a flat pad less than a quarter of the size of other blocks, this leads me to believe that either it's quite advanced technology compressed into a small space or somehow these pressure mats are able to harvest wind energy and transmit that on to the powder and other objects such as doors with neither electrical supplies nor connection points, just metal/wooden hinges that attach to the wall. Also, would you not think that if you're able to transmit energy via a pressure pad THROUGH THE GROUND it would electrocute the player slightly, if not fatally?(Seeing as it's enough power to charge several appliances)

It's not Iron Dust (Although I don't doubt it might not be terrible for energy conduction) because I doubt lighting iron dust would send a large amount of energy through a line of it, also, please keep in mind the consistency and resistance of 'redstone dust' as mentioned in the original post, neither of you have been very helpful.

I don't appreciate your insults, however. If you're here to flame or troll please leave, this is a serious request for information/inputs and I posted it in a SERIOUS forum, thanks again.

@ Last 2 posts. Again, thanks for your contribution.
Minecraft IS actually a realistic game. Minecraft has dirt. Real life has dirt. Do you see a connection?
Also, thanks for clearing up that it's a mystery. I was actually asking the question because the answer is obvious.

@Caagr "Hasn't" not "Haven't", dumbass.
@CXgamer Yes, how did you know I have a pokemon texture pack, though?

On second thought, pokemon doesn't have bats, it has bat-like pokemon, your opinion is invalid.

Now hold on a second. Your avatar is some kind of rainbow frog that rapidly changes its color. As far as I know, there aren't any creatures like that in the real world. How am I supposed to believe you're a real person?
Which you can obviously see from your other posts. :tongue.gif:
I mean, who doesn't upload it's creations on meatspin?
Mate, that was my 5 year old sister, not me who posted that.

Minecraft doesn't have dirt, Minecraft has dirt blocks. Your opinion is just as invalid.
Dirty blocks ~ Blocks of dirt.

Minecraft is far from realistic. I mean floating dirt blocks isn't very realistic. As for where the idea for redstone came from, well at a guess Id say from electrical wire. Notch just had to make it mineable/ craftable
@Skyy, no idea what the **** you're talking about, dude. Read your post like 7 times and couldn't understand it, Is English your first language?
@May I ask, how old are you Firesheer?
Varies depending on topic subject, atm i'm just an 11 year old seeking enlightenment.

I stopped posting because I didn't feel like arguing with that, it's a pretty reasonable answer.
Also, you double posted when you told me to stop double posting, I like doing it though.
Double posting is for kings, triple is divine.

No, double posting is against the rules of most (I dunno about the MC) forums. Also, what Skyy said was totally reasonable, if you understand sarcasm. What he meant was that in real life, you do not get attacked by zombies, creepers, skeletons, etc., and also that when you die, you do not simply respawn in your bed. Finally, how realistic are floating blocks? Seriously?

Me? Yes, I'm being totally serious. Why on earth would the most creative thing about the game have to be removed because it isn't realistic (and it's much more realistic than many things in Minecraft.)
