i just have a question . how mutch redstone logic douse youre door have. IM not saying myone is small but it locks behind you automaticly when you come or go. mening to operate it you place then break a redstone torch under a certin block. it open you go it, it closes Leaving NO TRACE a door ever existed to the out side world . This is what i would term PERFECT CONSEALMENT . as no blocks change on the out side people see no change after you have vanished right in front of them. so are youre doors PERFECT CONSEALMENT . (i know this is not required to win smallest door but it is somthing im shoure we would like to have.)
I think thats what the whole topic about.
OT: I made a 2 by 2 that locks behind you and no turning back. Its part of the starting dungeon of the server I'm heavily addicted to :tongue.gif:
- Douse Not LOCK you in or out. ( could easily be modified to do this. )
- allows multiple people to come and go when ever they want to.
- Finishes Flat with wall
- Complete concealment
- Auto closes behind you
- Button allows you to leave When inside.
- (NEW Patent pending) Redtone torch opening system LOL XD
I've been trying to get the mechanism smaller than I have it, but I just can't do it.
The cobble border along the bottom is just to show that you can build that wall around it and have it 100% concealed.
Without the wall, the entire system is only 3 high, 6 wide and 4 long, which isn't bad at all.
And if anyone wants a serious look at it, hit me up with a PM and I'll give you my server IP that I started up to work on this.
Quick edit: Forgot to mention I could easily add one block to the back to make a switch for the inside, too. I used a XOR gate on my main mountainside entrance, and it works great.
I've made a 2x2 hidden door on my house. the full redstone circuit size is 7 blocks high, 6 blocks long, and 8 blocks wide. here's a video of it on my house (as well as the lighting I put in):
I hope I did that right, my first time embedding a video XD

That is good but the idear is to have a clear passage to walk throught.
I made mine in order to place in the side of a cliff as the entrance to my base. I need the stairs going up anyway so i decided to include them in the design.

I made it just as the picture AND the bottem Pistions DONT WORK is this a bug or is youre design falty??

That is realy cool i like the lights best . also powering two pistons right next to etcheor is hard you solution is the simplist most common way of doing it . so you dont such as bad a you think. all in all good job.
And you did embed the vid right i edited it out of my post to save space.

That makes sence now thanks for explaning it. ( i still think it douse not fill the criteria. as it stated conceled wiring . ) but that is a good way of doing it when you want stairs. ( personaly i use a lift made form BTW ( Beter than wolvs ) so i have little need of stairs.
Good work making it that small.
My hidden 2x2 piston door is the most smallest yet. I would like to see someone make it smaller.
Size: 4x8x4 (excluding lever + redstone connecting to the door), 7x10x4 (including lever + redstone connecting to the door)
just made one thats 8 x 6 x 3. if u want i could upload a file for the structure planner so u know how to do it. i used 4 sticky pistons, 1 lever and 23 bits of redstone dust. probs the smallest i could make it and i think this is gonna be a permanent design for my secret doors.

From what I understand, it is a glitch with 1.7.2
The bottom 4 need to be powered underground for whatever reason in order for them to extend, yet the middle two do not need this. Testing shows that the powered redstone under them doesn't even extend them, the game just needs it there for the system to work. Part of this idea came to me when I realised the redstone powering the bottom 4 was inverted to the rest of the system.
Meaning when the doors are shut, the redstone circuits under the bottom 4 are off.
there still needs to be a matching delay for some reason, but yes, you do need redstone under the bottom 4 in order for them to extend. I'll upload a video later today if I get the chance.
:sleep.gif:
The door IS supposed to be flat with the wall when closed, with all redstone and pistons hidden while it is closed. While open, you should only see pistons, no redstone.
Its amazing how many people cant get that concept lol.
I have made a hidden door all wiring hidden (the kind that is flush and is pulled inwards and then to the sides). My first design was 12 long, 6 wide, and 5 high. Then I learned a little trick on the forums about wiring things and managed to shrink it to 10 long, 5 wide, and 5 high. I really do not think it is possible to make it any smaller then that. I would post pics but I have no way of doing that as I only have internet at work, not home. Im not even supposed to be on the internet right now lol

Sometimes, you just need a little more cave.
