Mojang, and most people ARE aware that sometimes, redstone torches, especially in SMP, "burn out" for no apparent reason. This basically means that you power the block it is attached to, and then when you remove the power, the torch stays off. A simple fix is restart the server or reload the Single player map. If this happens to you please don't post another topic about it!

I personally have never ever had this happen to me, is there any circuit that is specifically prone to this so that we can actually specifically prove it happens?

That's about the closest thing I can think of. This is intended behavior in Minecraft.

This hasn't happened to me on Bukkit, but it happened on a vanilla server when pressure plates still bugged when you pushed them.
It also happens in SSP, but not very often.
I use TMI and zombe's pack (flymod only)
