I currently have a piston connected by wire to a redstone torch. The piston is of course, engaged and holding a block in place. Let's call this "LIGHTS ON".
I want to use a *button* to send a pulse to the piston, which would shut the circuit OFF, disengaging the piston and turning the "LIGHTS OFF".
Somewhere, between the button and the enabled wire (via redstone torch) there must be a contraction/gate/setup that will turn a wire OFF via a pulse from a button.
Thanks, let me know and I can upload pictures.

If the forum wasnt retarded trying to upload a picture I could show you a simple diagram but this is the best i can do without being able to upload my diagram
[button][stone][redstonetorch][Redstonewire][piston] put them together like that and the piston will switch off when you press the button instead of turn on make sure the torch is on the stone block that has the button on the oposite side of the button
that is a really clever way of doing it but it might be a little tricky to hide the redstone.
anyway good luck I would love to see what you do with it
Thank you very much, you guys are ALL very helpful! I'm working on a library with complex lighting in the walls/ceiling. Here is a glimpse of what I'm working on... you can see the overhead lighting which can be turned on/off with a single button. This also goes for the lighting you might be able to see along the walls...

Grizdale's Piston Logic Compendium has several T Flip-flop designs that could help with this. Also, very creative use of hatches, that library looks great! :smile.gif:
