I discovered something recently for pistons/hatches. It's a method of making one way doors, two way doors, or locking the door from both sides. I can see how it would be ridiculously ineffective without a method to lock the hatch like we have on this server, but to be fair, so could a lot of things.
Anyways, here's the video, you'll understand it way better than I could possibly explain here.
There's also a way to do this with slowsand and a 1x2 entryway. But all one-way doors are pretty useless except in use against mobs, who can already be kept in place by a few water currents.
They're a lot of ways to make one way doors in my 1.7 test world I made a one way door that unless you break out you need to find the exit in the maze that I made
Basically the player autocrouches to go over it.. but won't autocrouch if there's no block above you before you walk into the entrance. If you try and manually crouch it won't work since it won't let you get off your Z axis. As mentioned this has been a known thing since repeaters were added.
Use it on SMP server I'm on in the protection area as a means of allowing new players to have some safety when they first get in, read up on rules, etc and prevent them from taking harbor back inside of it once they leave.

Sorry for the quality issues. :sad.gif:
But anyways, I still like the potential uses for it.
its like.
soul sand.
except you
can go through
it as a trapdoor.

Not sure about the potential uses (mostly due to the fact that trapdoors can be opened by hand) but definately an interesting find.
Also, would this be considered a glitch? (To be honest I am still unsure of what "glitch" really means in Minecraft).
