I used one piston and lever to push a block that will cover my mine entrance in an emergency. If anyone could devise a way to replace all your walls with obsidian, and reset, that would be really cool!
Could you upload your map for me please? I want to see how you did the all those circuits, it looks way too cool and I want to figure out how you did that
I made a very basic glass door. Doors don't have much room to see through, and none at all on the bottom. Using glass allows you to see alot more. :biggrin.gif: The only problem is due to using one switch on the outside, and one on the inside. If you use an alternate entrance to go inside, you'll have to use the alternate entrance to go back outside and use the switch on the outside of the door to get it working again.
Yeah, but how? It is not possible that way. I tried few methods but they didnt work.
The redstone torch is powering the wire "diagonal" to it.
A NAND switch to inverse the input without replacing it.
What I couldnt figure out however, is how to move the wire "diagonal" to the torch in order to place more bookshelves without powering the actual piston and burning out the torch
It is perfect, but I cant figure out how the mechanism in the library works... What does this redstone torch do?
The torch in the library is simply hooked up like this.
The second one was connected to a rapid pulse arrow dispenser so it fired when the door opened. Which is easy to do since the pulser is off when receiving power and pistons are extended, closing the door.

Unfortunately when the game updated to 1.7.2, some of my pistons bugged out. So I won't be releasing it unless I figure out how to get it all working again. Sorry.

I'm in the process of making a large underground room that uses a 20-minute clock attached to pistons to move lightstone in and out of view to simulate a day/night cycle, with a system to purge all the monsters from the room using water just before sunrise. o_o;
Several things. I've made a trap that starts with sliding doors (doesn't activate trap, just doors), locks the doors behind you, there are diamond blocks at the end of a small room as bait to walk forward. When one walks forward, the diamond splits in half (one goes left, one goes right) using two RS latches, revealing 2 dispensers. The right latch sends a signal to a pulser which fires 7 shots from each dispenser. While the shots are fired, a signal is sent from the left latch to the back of the circuit, which sets off 7 repeaters set to knock 4, and then an inverter (on on each side). Each inverter resets the left and right latches, which causes the diamond blocks to reset, concealing the dispeners.
I've built a self repairing cobblestone wall, old news.
I've also built an interesting door. Instead of the usual left and right side sliding door, this door opens with a "twist". There is a 2x2 hole that is covered by 4 cobblestone. The top right has a piston above it, the top left has a piston to the left of it, the bottom left has a piston below it, and the bottom right has a piston to the right of it. When the door is activated, the door appears to twist counter-clockwise. Not super useful, but interesting.
I have also created a suffocation trap using three regular pistons. This is a chest in the back of a 1x2 hallway as bait. When the victim walks toward it and activates a plate, two blocks in front (sand or gravel) are each moved in some way. The nearest to the plate is dropped down a hole (the floor falls out by a piston retracting), and the one closest to the chest is pushed up, preventing the ability to avoid the floor fall. There is a third piston, already extended when inactive, which drops a load of gravity blocks into the hole. The blocks cover the victim, suffocating them.
Nothing too intricate, but I'm working on it. :tongue.gif:
I've had an ongoing pistons youtube series for quite a while now, so there's a lot that I've already done with vanilla piston functionality. But, the two most recent videos use vanilla pistons. Trading posts:

I dunno, that first one was pretty complicated. Nice work!

SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

My dad and I built our copy of the "Jeb" door. Our version shows nothing from the outside. It is built on his private server for family and close friends, but is open to them so they can look at it.
I have pictures, but I don't know how to post them... Anyone have advice?
I've made my house hide everything when I flick a switch. I also have a locking device that keeps everything down if I want (when I implement my design into my server).
i havnt done it yet but i think it allows for a down elevator where you can select your floor, its my next project. Still working on a way to get it to make a vertical elevator though.... nothing seems very efficent for player transport.... for now ladders might be your best bet

I don't always mine, but when I do, I prefer diamond. Stay crafty my friends.
It powers the entire circuit.

It's going to be SWEET

I'm sure I could make it less complicated, but I'd have to have a manual reset button, and auto-resets are so much nicer. :tongue.gif:
I may post a video soon.
