my iron farm isnt working as fast as it could because half of the gollems that spawn end up swimming up the lava instead of falling through it, how do i fix it?
Have them drop farther before hitting the lava, for one thing. With enough inertia, they won't have time to swim (though I was unaware they could swim?).
quote=HexalobularOr you could drop them into flowing water that pushes them into lava at head height held up by signs.
Expanding on ths:
Offsetting the lava blade used to kill the iron golems also prevents it from destroying items which allows one to add (for instance) cane and cactus farms to the structure of the iron farm. [This makes these farms much cheaper as much of the structure and collection mechanism are already built. The golems can also be used to trigger a tripwire to activate the harvest mechanism, removing the need for a clock with its attendant lag.
Baby villagers (which are short enough to reliably pass under the lava blade) can alos be collected from the same drop chute. {I have had some losses of adults as they seem to bob high enough to catch fire.}]

Just testing.
