I have an animation to do with the /setblock command that will illuminate a room in the form of a magic circle. Basiclly, the floor blocks will change from chiseled stone bricks to sained glass in a pattern way. Glowstone blocks will be just under them.
I have more than 400 /setblock commands to write. Is there a way to do the work faster than just taking note of the coordinates or creating a grid with coordinates and the magic circle, and then writing them one after another?

You can use the clone command , it makes it much easier than just using /setblock . the bad thing is , you need to build every possibility

Yea with the 1.8 snapshot it could be faster, but I don't think so as my animation will make 4 blocks max appear at time. I think that even with the /clone commend it could take the same time to build. Or just shorten it a little.
You could use an MCEdit filter from Sethblings website. I forgot what the name is, but there is something like that, and I used it twice already, so it's pretty safe.

1.Copy circle with Mcedit
2.Change blocks on each image
3. do /clone commands (might go a bit quicker)
