I'm very excited for 1.7. I was hoping a new biome update would come out soon. Not sure how much I'm going to like these "Disco Mountains". Seeing random hills of multicolored stone in my desert would be odd, wouldn't it?

THIS is going to be beautiful. Much more like Real life deserts, I'm truly excited for this update.
Chunk borders are an area where different world generation codes meet. This happens when you generate new land in an already existing world. A good example of this would be during 1.8 where the terrain generation code was changed almost completely. There's usually a seperation line.
This would be an example of what most chunk borders look like.
I remember that 1.7/1.7.3 was notoriously good at creating these... (in my experience)
Well, it appears to me that 1.7 is definitely going to break worlds again. Just like some previous versions did. But it seems also that the terrain really is going to be improved. It will propably not be like Beta 1.7.3 again, but that's fine with me. As long as it makes more sense and has some more unpredictability, then it would already be a lot better then it already is right now.
Here's something to add.
Yes Sprint will be bound to 1 key. The default key42 which is LShift. (If you change a key then the reset button will show)

B.1.8 removed all biomes and replaced them (some stayed and were improved)
Jeb has been showing pictures of new and current biomes. I feel this is not gonna break worlds, however add more up the unloaded parts.
E.g. A 1.7 world's biomes are not correct in current versions, river biome in the middle of a tree biome. So unless the change the all biome numbers and foilage nothing will be broken.
B.1.8 broke worlds because they wanted to improve things for 1.0
Also.. The biome colors shown in jebs overhead map, which btw is using mcedit. I see 3-4 new biome colors.
Not new grass, different colored grass (based off biome)
Also I see the unused "shrub" item with is ID 31.
The shrub is an unused block that has the same texture as the Dead Bush(ID 32)
But the Shrub Is placed on Grass not sand. Is in the game, doesn't spawn, isn't in creative yet
