Yep, seems so after just testing it. Guessing it might be possible for overworld Enderman farms now? Depending on if these Endermites can spawn in the overworld though.
Endermites also can not survive in Minecarts apparently. The second they get into one they start making suffocation sounds.
Endermen can see players from 64 blocks if memory serves, so they should do the same for Endermites. I wonder what these will be used for. Maybe they'll be in strongholds along with silverfish? Also, I found a difference. Silverfish never stop moving. Endermites don't move when idle (try spawning one in Creative.) Probably a glitch.
Hmmm. If endermites fall off damaged or killed Endermen....and endermites attack the player and cause damage...might this nerf end grinders?
So you've got your tower of spawning platforms with pistons to push endermen into a falling trap that knocks them down to half a heart. And hundreds of endermen are spawning and falling...will that damage cause endermites to spawn, then attack the player? How about as the player is punching those hundreds of endermen to death? Do we need to now put some sort of moat between us and the endermen to protect us from the endermites? Or will endermites just be a minor annoyance, somewhat compensated by the addition of whatever XP we get from also killing the endermites?

Oh noes. I'm thinking this is exactly what mojang wanted. I will have to do testing at my farm soon.

Endermites do not spawn when the enderman is damaged, it's actually when it teleports, that the endermite spawns. This means it will not affect enderman farms, as they don't teleport (much) while in the farm. (Enderman cannot teleport vertically, so there's how to keep them from teleporting.) Even if the enderman does teleport, the endermite will be killed by the enderman. So, Mojang ISN'T, I repeat, ISN'T nerfing enderman farms at all. Though, one problem with them, they nerf the hide under a two block gap trick, as if they teleport away, they drop a little surprise for you.
Also, for the guy who said that the enderman are evil, in what way are they evil? They don't like being stared at, or hit. That doesn't make them evil in any way.
Not sure if this is a coincidence, but it seems like when I was testing out he endermite, and put it
on top of a small sand pillar, that the endermen eventually started slowly tearing the pillar down until they were
able to attack it. New AI change?
So like I suggested about re skinning mobs and making them new ones, I see they didn't take my advice on desk inning zombies/ zpigmen to make a daylight opposing force for Steve, or even the iron golem into some sort of troll or whatever. I would have even prefered of they made the silverfish into a termite in trees when you chop wood, but this is incredibly stupid.

Well, they did say there was some AI changes, so maybe enderman will start tearing things apart to get to the player as well... O.o
Does that mean that they have rendered the standing under a two block gap even MORE useless?!?! This update may very well be 'The Nerf Update'...
Something tells me there is going to be a lot of rage going on with this update, especially the derailing part...
It isn't a bad idea, but it should just be when you're on hard mode or something. Otherwise, there would be EVEN MORE complaints about this update. And then everyone would be driven crazy.

They haven't seen your suggestion at all, most likely, and are just doing what they feel like doing.
Depends. In the case of the current amount of hostile mobs, I'd say yeah, you're right.
If endermen drop endermites when they teleport while you're fighting them, will the enderment prioritize you? That is, will they try to kill you before the endermite?
On occasion. Is less money more? While the endermite may be entirely random, I could see some uses for it. I think it's just for making enderman hunting a lot harder.

Mojang gets thousands and thousands of suggestions. They aren't going to be able to look at everyone's. Let alone put them all in the game.
A termite would be pretty cool, but I don't think this is stupid.
Basically silverfish with particles.
EDIT: Endermites now have a new model. They are a bit "chubbier" and smaller. More cube shaped.

Yeah, he is moving to the Endermite.

After the endermite leaves the enderman it seems to me that they are still as evil as before. However that could be made into a cool story!
No we just made it up to fool you.
oh and yeah, this is not a lie, it's in 14w11a, just play it

I'd have to disagree. Less is more!
