As many of you know, the latest snapshot was just released (13w21a). I already found a bug in it that is pretty significant and should be fixed immediately. Some of you may have noticed that the sprinting has seemed to be nerfed. At the moment I don't know if this is a bug or a new feature. Sprinting in the 13w21a seems to be no faster than walking (you go faster, but barely).
Dinnerbone has been pandering more and more to the alpha fanboys lately.
Who could blame him? With all the obsessive whining that seems to occur with every update, I'm surprised it's not even at Alpha yet. Of course, I kid around, but still, I want Minecraft to advance, not to fallback.
This is a bug. The sprinting speed as it is now is the exact same speed as the walking speed. It's nothing to fret over, it will be fixed by next snapshot, I imagine.
People, please. If you find a bug... REPORT IT IN MOJIRA, NOT HERE ON THE FORUMS, FOR GODS SAKE. This place is just to discuss the new features, not bugs...

back-seat Moderation. Excellent work. It's already on Mojira.
Thing is, Minecraft is out of Beta. We shouldn't have to go to a Bugtracker and be Mojang's Free QA team.

I thought snapshots were Minecraft's way of maintaining a permanent Beta. If you don't want the bugtracker job, play on officially released numbered updates.
(I will admit though, the numbered updates have their fair share of inexcusable bugs)

dafuq man? minecraft is out of beta, but the snapshots are all beta. I mean, if a really ugly bug is on the official release, then it is ok to post here, so everyone sees and the devs try to fix it quicker. But a bug in the snapshot... well, there are supposed to be bugs on the snapshots, and Mojira is there to fix them. Imagine if instead of all those bugs posted in Mojira, people posted here? the spam... oh the spam.
Slowness and speed pots do not work. Speed is being moved to the attribute system in code but if you look in the console, the attribute does not load correctly. The attribute system is a work in progress and like most features in snapshots, is incomplete. If you don't like the uncertainty that comes with them, don't play them - it's that simple.
The problem is we don't all have a Mojirra account.
Nor do we all have a Minecraft Forums account. The solution is to just make a Mojira account, and chances are you'll find another bug to report. (...but use search for crying out loud so that you don't make redundant reports!)
If it is a feature then they might as well nerf horse's speed
If it is a bug then it should be fixed (I think it is a bug though)
It's a bug with the new experimental and disabled "Speed" NBT tag (Change the mob speed for adventure maps makers)
This will be fixed in the next snapshot.

Source: It's not hard to tell it's not a feature.
I'm guessing they messed up some code while implementing the AtrributesModifiers system.
