What serial code? Who told you this? You buy an account and you can download the game using the launcher everywhere.
Every other game I have purchased uses some sort of serial, registratio, or other ID code that identifies the user and links it to the account. I assumed this one did as well, when I went through the registration process. I don't recall the exact process, so I used the standard format when describing registration.
Why do you think you're allowed to have the game for free just because you can't afford it? If you're going to absolutely buy it, it's really not that big of a deal, but still.
I would say you are lucky because in Asia there is no Wal-mart to buy gift cards from...
Man, it took my friend a 2 years (since beta 1.6 or so) just to persuade his parents to buy the game online.
It took me half a year of waiting, too. Can't you just wait till your b-day or Christmas? Or is nobody in your family in favor of you playing games?
is there anything i can do about it?(discluding hacking to get premium)
Well, You'll have to wait for 13w18c to be released and force update...

Leafeon used Magical Leaf!
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers what the Universe is for, it will be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
Notch is okay with pirating, long as you consider actually buying it when you can. http://www.pcgamer.c...ews-be-illegal/ and this kid actually considers buying the game, so why give him a hard time? Money doesn't come easy for many people these days.
You'll be fine as long as you're going to buy it when you actually can afford it. Just don't talk or ask about where to get it on the forums or share cracked files/launchers.

Maybe you got a gift card and a serial number...
I registred using Mojang account so maybe the proccess is different (I got loled!).
I'm so sick of people on this forum saying BS that this game is not for women and not for kids,
Tons of girls/women play minecraft and I know 6 year olds that play this game and know tons of things about the game.
they could just as easily say that minecraft is not for men because it has decoration blocks, food and a furnace.
I think what they're saying is that it's not a game for people who have no sense of maturity (the stereotypical 10-year-old gamer who shouts "NOOB" and swears more than a drunken sailor).
I dun like sharing a server with those sorts of people. Kids who act a little more maturely, though, are fine by me.
everyone, he said other than buying, to people who told him to buy the game, if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.
That's the thing though; if you want the snapshots, the only way you can get them (To my knowledge at least, maybe people torrent them too, I've never checked into that) is by buying the actual game.

SDM and Squid Army fanboys/girls. You're as ridiculous as each other. Gold=Butter=Gold. Why do you harp on about something as trivial as what people call it?
Billybob; what exactly do you mean by "Premium"? Minecraft does not have a "Premium" version. You only need to purchase the game itself. Once you have registerrd the game with the serial code they give you upon purchase, you will be all set for updates and such.
The only place I see "Premium" on this site is an advertizement for becoming a Premium Member of the Curse website network. That's not the same thing as purchasing the game. All that does is give you perks for games that sponsor Curse.
I just wanted to make sure you weren't confused about that. I'd hate to see you waste your Birthday money on the wrong purchase.
What serial code? Maybe you got the wrong game too.

Pfft, I pirated Minecraft when it was still in alpha, then Notch announced SMP and I brought it that day. It's not so easy for everybody to earn cash, we know nothing about this kid, so it's probably not good thing to keep being so mean.
If there're no such thing as Premium Accounts then why is there a Demo Mode for folks who have just registered a username without purchasing?
What's wrong with kids playing MC? Okay, they can be a little difficult to play alongside on servers as they don't always have the same eye for aesthetics or respect for other people's builds as all us "grown-ups", but that's what server prisons are for...
In short, good luck getting your Premium Account; have fun playing the snapshots, and don't be a griefer

So what if I'm 7 or 9821093785 years old?
On topic, get it for your birthday and if you're 10, you're old enough for pocket money, just ask for it.
Enter that and you'll score one hundred thousand rupees for us both, along with a spiffy card!

I don't. i live in a place with lazy people.

I waited my time and it was really worth it.
In countries like China, the game costs like 161... not so cheap.
That is only in America, remember, Minecraft is an INTERNATIONAL GAME.

The ESRB rates it from 10 to infinity. I said 9821093784, because I don't know a dude who is 9821093784 years old.
Go to ESRB.org and search for minecraft.
10+.
